The First Lady Melania Trump scored a major legal victory on Friday when a judge threw out author Michael Wolff’s lawsuit against her.
Melania Gets Good News From Judge
The judge ruled that Wolff’s contorted” attempt to prevent Melania from suing him for $1 billion over his statements about her and Jeffrey Epstein “is not how the federal courts work.”
In issuing this ruling, Manhattan Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil slammed Wolff for having an “inappropriate level of tactical gamesmanship.” She went so far as to say that she “will not be conscripted to oversee an abusively presented spat.”
Judge Vyskocil, an appointee of President Donald Trump, acknowledged that Wolff and Melania “have a real dispute.” However, she added that “they must litigate it according to the same procedures as everyone else.”
Wolff’s Lawsuit
Wolff filed his lawsuit against Melania in October of 2025. This came after the First Lady’s lawyer Alejandro Brito sent him a blistering letter. In it, Brito warned that Melania would be “left with no alternative” but to sue Wolff if he didn’t retract statements that the attorney said had caused her “overwhelming reputational and financial harm.”
Wolff wanted the judge to rule that he never defamed Melania. He also wanted the judge to declare that if Melania files a lawsuit against him, she would be liable for costs, fees and unspecified monetary damages.
Wolff initially filed his lawsuit against Melania in state court in New York. Brito was able to get it moved to federal court. It was there that Judge Vyskocil ruled that though federal court does have jurisdiction, she was declining to exercise it. Instead, she issued a ruling that “dismisses this case to be litigated like any other.”
Melania was quick to celebrate the ruling. Her spokesperson told Fox News that the First Lady “is proud to continue standing up to, and fighting against, those who spread malicious and defamatory falsehoods as they desperately try to get undeserved attention and money from their unlawful conduct.”
Melania Denies Epstein Ties
Melania’s legal team have previously argued that Wolff’s statements about her supposed ties to Epstein have caused the First Lady “overwhelming reputational and financial harm.”
Melania, 56, has long denied ever being associated with Epstein. The late billionaire pedophile died behind bars in 2019 while trial on child sex trafficking charges.
“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” Melania said at an April press conference. “The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”
“I [have] never been friends with Epstein,” the First Lady continued. “Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time. Since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach.”
Melania went on to reference multiple named accusers who have apologized for linking her to Epstein.
“To date, several individuals and companies have been legally obligated to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as The Daily Beast, James Carville and Harper Collins, UK,” Melania stated.
“The false smears about me from mean-spirited and politically motivated individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name, to gain financially and climb politically, must stop,” she added. “My attorneys and I have fought these unfounded and baseless lies with success, and will continue to maintain my sound reputation without hesitation.”

Origins Of Wolff’s Lawsuit
Last summer, The Daily Beast retracted an article called “Melania Trump ‘Very Involved’ in Epstein Scandal: Author.” This article was based on an interview with Wolff. It was removed after the outlet received a letter from Melania’s lawyer.
In his lawsuit, Wolff claimed that he never accused Melania of being involved in Epstein’s criminal activity. He also argued that some of his statements were taken out of context, while others fall under protected speech. For example, Wolff claimed that statements that he made that the Trumps have a “sham marriage, trophy marriage” were just “fair and justified” opinions.
Wolff also argued in his lawsuit that both Donald and Melania “have made a practice of threatening those who speak against them” with costly legal actions “to silence their speech, to intimidate their critics generally, and to extract unjustified payments and North Korean style confessions and apologies.”
Unfortunately for Wolff, however, the judge in this case did not agree.
Wolff has long shown that he has one of the worst cases of Trump derangement syndrome of anyone in the media. Given how vehemently anti-Trump the media is, that’s saying a lot! Indeed, Wolff has written four books bashing the president: “Fire and Fury,” “Siege,” “Landslide,” and “All or Nothing.” It seems that his hatred for President Trump has sadly spilled over to the First Lady as well.
Despite what hateful liberals say, there is no evidence that Melania had ties to Epstein during his life. We applaud her for fighting back against this lawsuit with everything she has, and we congratulate her on her legal victory.
God bless you, Melania Trump!
