The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is calling out the singer Beyoncé for playing the “victim” on her Cowboy Carter tour. This came after Beyoncé included a clip of Kelly criticizing her attempts at becoming a country music star in her concerts.
Kelly Fires Back At Beyoncé
In one segment of her Cowboy Carter show, Beyoncé, 43, reportedly includes media clips of various television personalities commenting on her foray into country music. Indeed, Kelly’s blurred out face can be seen making critical comments about Beyoncé trying to become a country music star.
In the clip, Kelly complained that the Cowboy Cowboy album marketing. She felt that it was being portrayed as if Beyoncé were “Jesus incarnated” and “here to rescue country music.” Kelly then pointed out that the country music genre has been doing quite well for decades. She suggested that this means that the genre does not need Beyoncé to save it.
Kelly fired back at Beyoncé for this on her eponymous SiriusXM show.
“It recently came to my attention that Beyoncé, who’s on some world tour right now reinventing herself as a country star, is running videotape during the show of yours truly,” began Kelly, 54.
“She is considered untouchable. You’re not allowed to rip on her, by the way. You’re not allowed to rip on Michelle Obama, either, but we do. Too bad,” Kelly continued. “The more untouchable you tell me somebody is, the more likely I am to want to hit them.”
Beyoncé Wants To ‘Play The Victim,’ Kelly Alleges
Kelly went on to say that Beyoncé “had to scour the internet to find anybody who offered any criticism of this move [into country] whatsoever.”
“Here is another one of the most privileged, beloved women in the world, and richest based on her own fortune. But still has to look for the one sliver where she could play the victim and be aggrieved because big bad Megyn Kelly said something completely milquetoast about her entry into country music,” Kelly concluded.
Days later, Kelly doubled down on this in another interview.
“She’s got tissue paper thin skin and was very deeply offended that we had a discussion not recognizing Queen Bey as the new ruler of country music,” Kelly told Sky News Australia. “That we might have had a couple of doubts about whether she would revolutionize this genre that’s been around for a long time before she decided to stick her toe into it. And she decided to take that clip and parlay it into her victimhood.”

Beyoncé Struggles To Sell Cowboy Carter Tickets
It’s likely that Kelly’s comments will hit a nerve with Beyoncé. Indeed, the singer has been struggling to sell tickets to her Cowboy Carter tour.
Hours before Beyoncé first Cowboy Carter concert in Los Angeles back in April, 3,000 seats were still available. This was confirmed by Ticketmaster. An insider claimed to Daily Mail that resellers were largely to blame for this. These resellers buy large amounts of concert tickets before reselling them to fans for exorbitant prices,
Things have been even worse for Beyoncé on social media. There, users compared the prices of her resale tickets, some of which were as low as $20, to the price of the limited edition Minecraft Movie Big Mac Meals from McDonald’s. Indeed, these meals are being sold for around the same price.
“Due to its low demand, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald’s Minecraft meal ($21.39),” read one viral social media post.
How embarrassing is that?!

Fans May Not Like Beyoncé’s Country Album
Some are blaming resellers for Beyoncé’s low ticket sales. However, others think that fans simply aren’t interested in her country album.
“While I’m a Beyoncé fan, I personally don’t enjoy Cowboy Carter as much as her other albums,” one fan told The London Times. “So I just decided not to get a ticket.”
“Nobody cares about cowgirl version of Beyoncé,” a social media user boldly declared. Another wrote, “This country album should’ve been a donation based concert.”
Perhaps Beyoncé thinks that playing the “victim” is the only way she can garner any interest in her floundering Cowboy Carter tour. However, maybe Beyoncé should think twice before including Kelly’s criticisms of her in one of her concerts again. In the end, Kelly is not one to take things laying down, so she’s simply not somebody to mess with!
