Last week, we reported that Meghan Markle was left humiliated when Netflix downgraded her contract in a big way. Now, things have gotten even worse for Meghan, as the true depth of the unpopularity of the wife of Prince Harry has finally been revealed.
Meghan Is ‘Disliked Intensely’ By The Public
Royal expert Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of “My Mother and I,” is speaking out to claim that Meghan’s unpopularity has become a major factor in the feud between Harry and the royal family. Indeed, Harry’s older brother Prince William, who is the heir to the throne, is well aware of how supporters of the monarchy feel about Meghan.
“The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan,” Seward told Fox News. “She’s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very… damaging to the royal family. And also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don’t like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband’s family and dissed her own family.”
“It’s just extraordinary to think that her children have not met their grandfather,” she continued, referring to Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle.
“I think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here,” Seward explained. “And I think that’s a real black mark against Meghan’s character. I think she hasn’t been able to embrace… her own family, however much she feels about them. I mean, Harry’s never even met her father, which is extraordinary. There are a lot of difficult emotions [to] get over there.”
Meghan ‘Has No Sense Of Duty’
The British royal expert Hilary Fordwich was quick to agree. She pointed out that the vast majority of U.K. residents have an “unfavorable” view of Meghan.
“Persistent lack of trust is the main reason why senior royals remain reluctant to engage in reconciliation efforts,” she alleged. “Their concerns are well-founded, that any private family discussions could become public or be used for commercial projects… [Meghan]… has no sense of duty toward the British public nor the institution.”
This comes as the estrangement between William and Harry appears to be only escalating. It seems that in Harry’s mind, William was “unpleasant” towards Meghan in the past.
“Harry thinks that William insulted Meghan,” Seward claimed. “I think when you have that kind of animosity, it’s really hard to [get around it]. I just don’t see any kind of reparation, I just don’t see it at this moment.”
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals in January of 2020. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised. In the years since then, they have repeatedly bashed the royal family in interviews, books, docuseries, and more.
William Has ‘A Mistrust Of Meghan’
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams alleged that “a mistrust of Meghan” is “a major reason” why William won’t engage with his brother. However, according to Fitzwilliams, this is just one of many reasons.
“William feels Harry has betrayed the royal family,” Fitzwilliams said. “Given… the personal attacks on him in the memoir ‘Spare,’ reconciliation is likely to be a tough call with the [Prince of Wales].”
“There are some things which are not forgotten,” this royal expert warned. “Of course, reconciliation is desirable and being in exile, which Harry is, is often very sad… The last time the brothers were together, at the memorial service for Lord Fellowes last August, they reportedly didn’t speak. I doubt much has changed.”
Life is too short to hold grudges, particularly when it comes to family. Whether you like Meghan or not, you can’t deny the fact that it would likely be best for everyone involved if William and Harry could reconcile someday. Here’s hoping that happens at some point in the future!
