Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg and his beloved wife Rhea Durham celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary earlier this month. In a new interview on Monday, Wahlberg revealed that his “only remaining” tattoo is a touching tribute to her.
Wahlberg’s ‘Only Remaining’ Tattoo
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, Wahlberg showed off his “only remaining” tattoo, which is a ring finger tattoo dedicated to his wife.
“That’s my wife’s name,” explained Wahlberg, 53, as the camera zoomed in on the tattoo. “In case I’m not wearing my ring or I’m working, I can always have.”
Wahlberg added that he got the tattoo “on Valentine’s Day one year.”
“She said, ‘That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever done,'” he recalled of Durham’s reaction. “I said, ‘Well can I have back the expensive jewelry and just get you one of these too?'”
Wahlberg and Durham first met back in 2001 at a press junket. They then married in 2009. The happy couple share four children: daughters Ella and Grace and sons Michael and Brendan.
But what exactly does “only remaining” tattoo mean? How many others does – or did – Mark Wahlberg have?

Wahlberg Gets His Tattoos Removed
Wahlberg said that he got “all his other” tattoos removed. When asked if this process was painful, he replied, “Terribly painful.”
“They promise you that it’s very quick, couple of visits. It took me many years,” Wahlberg continued. “I actually was trying to get them removed by the time I was gonna do The Fighter because every time I did a movie if I had to take my shirt off I had to cover it all with makeup. Agonizing experience. So I tried to get it done and it took me like five years to get them completely removed.”
Wahlberg then likened the tattoo removal process to “hot bacon grease getting flicked on you over and over again.”
“Hopefully the technology has advanced by now,” he added.
Wahlberg previously revealed in 2012 that he brought his children with him to watch him get his tattoos removed.
“I don’t want my kids getting tattoos,” Wahlberg said at the time. “I’ve taken my two older kids to the procedure so they see how painful it is and what I have to go through.”
“I don’t want my kids to be in the entertainment business either, which is why I’m trying to build a lot of [separate] businesses,” he continued. “If they feel [passionate about acting], and that’s the decision they want to make, then I’ll support them. But I’ll do everything I can to point them in another direction.”
In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find a marriage that’s able to stand the test of time. We’d like to wish Wahlberg and Durham a happy belated wedding anniversary, and many more years together to come!
