Mark Wahlberg Reveals Keys To A Successful Marriage

In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find a marriage that is actually able to stand the test of time. That’s what makes the 15 year marriage between Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham so special!

Wahlberg’s Secret To Marriage Success

Wahlberg, 53, recently spoke out to reveal his secrets behind his successful marriage. He told Fox News that getting married “in the church” was very special to both him and Durham, 46.

Wahlberg is a devout Catholic.

“Well, look, I mean, we got married in the church. You know, we made that commitment to each other,” Wahlberg began. “That’s something that we take very seriously and so, communication, support.”

“We love each other. I mean, we – like everybody else – we all have problems and issues, but, being able to put those things aside and, you know, we’re blessed,” he continued.

Wahlberg and Durham are the parents of four children: Ella, 20, Michael, 18, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 14. He said that they are “very grateful” for their “beautiful family.”

“We have a beautiful family, beautiful life,” he added.

Wahlberg went on to offer some advice when it comes to having a successful marriage.

“You got anything you want to change? You just got to work hard to be able to go on and make those changes,” he advised.

Wahlberg And Durham’s History

People Magazine reported that Wahlberg and Durham, who is a model, met at a press junket in New York City back in 2001.

“I asked her if she wanted to come out with me, and she said yes,” Wahlberg later recalled. “Then I asked her if she wanted to come to church with me the next morning, and she said yes again. So that was our first date: St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.”

The rest, as they say, is history. Wahlberg and Durham have been inseparable ever since!

“I owe a lot to my wife,” Wahlberg told The Sun in 2018. “She has helped me become the man that I am and created a beautiful life for me and our children.”

“I also knew that she loved me for who I am and that she was someone I could trust,” he continued. “Until I met her, I wasn’t ready to get married.”

Last month, Wahlberg further opened up about how he and Durham have made their relationship work over the years.

“We are partners in every facet of life,” he told Life & Style. “The amount of support that I have [from her] to be able to go off and do what I need to do and her holding it down and [then me] being there for her.”

“Being in a marriage is about being together and supporting each other through everything,” Wahlberg continued. “We’ve been through a lot and we just, you know, we realized very early on.”

When it comes time for his children to find their own romantic partners, Wahlberg is hoping that they’ll be inspired by his and Durham’s relationship.

“The only thing I can do is be an example of how me and [their] mom are together,” he said. “And hopefully that will resonate with all of our children.”

Wahlberg and Durham truly are lucky to have such an incredible marriage. We’d like to wish them both many years of happiness together to come!
