It’s been four months since Ryan Seacrest began hosting Wheel of Fortune. He took over hosting duties from Pat Sajak, who retired in June of last year after hosting the beloved game show for 43 years.
In other words, he got the world’s biggest pair of shoes to fill.
Unfortunately for Seacrest, however, not everyone is pleased with his performance. Some Wheel of Fortune fans are now ripping into him for being “lazy” and “annoying.”
Wheel Of Fortune Fans Blast Seacrest
Fans have been taking to the social media site Reddit to vent their frustrations about Seacrest as of late. Earlier this week, one fan ripped into Seacrest for failing to properly guide contestants about the rules of the iconic game show – something Sajak made a priority.
“Ever since Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak, in recent episodes I’ve been watching, I’ve been discovering that Ryan has been forgetting to remind the player to dump the wild card after landing on bankrupt,” this fan lamented. “I’m not sure if he’s been forgetting too much or he’s just being lazy to remind the player.”
Another user was quick to agree.
“I think the more annoying thing is when he doesn’t remind them to call a letter before they solve in the last round when time is running out,” this user wrote. “Lady today lost out on $1,500 or so.”
The original poster replied, “That’s exactly how he is. I haven’t been too happy on how the season is going along. I would have to agree with you on why he doesn’t remind the player to call a letter when time runs short.”
“He has big shoes to fill, but he has even enormous shoes to fill,” the Reddit user added. “I understand he’s different but not in a way like that.”
More Complaints About Seacrest
Meanwhile, another Reddit user is frustrated that Seacrest often uses Wheel of Fortune to plug his other hosting gigs.
“I find Ryan to be very self promoting about his other gigs and his other sponsorship deals in the WOF show,” this fan lamented. “I’m at least glad Vanna [White] is getting to say more, but you can’t convince me that they’re actually buddies even though he keeps commenting on it and calling her a nickname. She’s a pro and plays along.”
“I just don’t believe that he actually loves the game itself. And as the host, he should be pointing out to the players when they have the clock ticking or ‘don’t want to guess a letter first?’ — it shows he cares about everyone doing well,” the user continued.
Not stopping there, the livid fan proceeded to double down.
“And good grief — announce the dollar amount of the prize money at the end of the final spin — I’d think the ADA rules would require that,” the fan stated. “When they win, the announcer says the amount — but when they loose there’s a long delay before Ryan says it. For the visually impaired SAY IT!”

Seacrest Is ‘Weak Choice’ To Replace Sajak
This only caused additional complaints about Seacrest to surface in the comments section.
“Also, I don’t like how he opens the bonus envelope backwards like a piece of paper and he doesn’t read the bonus envelope prize out loud,” one fan wrote. Another agreed, “Oh my god, I hate the way he shows the money and the bonus round. He holds the card up against his chest and builds up the suspense, and it’s 40K. Sad slide whistle.”
Yet another Wheel of Fortune fan expressed the belief that Seacrest was simply the wrong person to replace Sajak.
“It was time for Pat to go, but I agree, weak choice just taking America’s host of everything Ryan. He’s gotten better, but there’s really something missing,” this fan complained. “He has too much going on in his life to sit back & work on making himself better with this show. Even if this is filmed a few days a month, he’s too busy.”
This will all undoubtedly come as very bad news to Seacrest. Only time will tell how long he will be able to last on Wheel of Fortune!
