We previously reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time. Now, insiders are claiming that Kidman is preparing to reunite with Urban under the same roof. She’s doing this for the sake of their two teenage daughters.
Kidman To Reunite With Urban
Kidman and Urban are parents to daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The actress is reportedly planning to reunite with Urban this week in the hopes of making some happy holiday memories for their daughters.
“Nicole has got very mixed emotions about spending time under the same roof as Keith again, but she’s determined to do it for the sake of her girls,” an insider told Radar Online.
“The girls have hardly seen Keith in the last six months as he’s been touring and they’ve been overseas with Nicole,” the source continued. “They miss him terribly. And while they’ve been trying to stay strong, Nicole knows what they really want is some normal family time. So she’s vowed to do whatever it takes to give them that.”
According to the insider, Kidman and Urban’s daughters were blindsided by their parents’ breakup.
“As far as they knew, their parents had a solid marriage, so it’s been a hard adjustment,” the source added.
Kidman’s Holiday Plans
Kidman had allegedly wanted to spend the holidays in Australia with her family. However, she’s willing to stay in Nashville, Tennessee to accommodate Urban.
“Everyone who has seen him lately has told her that he’s struggling,” the source revealed. “She doesn’t want to see him suffer and doesn’t want to alienate him from their kids. So she’s going to be the bigger person, even though she’s still very hurt.”
While Urban has been invited to join Kidman for the holidays, she’s also invited other family members and friends to join them as buffers.
“Even with her tribe of people around her, it’s going to take some serious discipline for her to keep her emotions in check,” the source concluded. “It’s all very raw for her still. But she’s saying she can handle it because she’ll do anything for her daughters.”
Urban And Kidman Split
Unbeknownst to fans, Kidman and Urban secretly separated back in June. Urban was the one who initiated the split, and he immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.
Kidman then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Another insider told US Weekly that Kidman “had faith they could work it out” after being “quietly separated for a while.”
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
