The former Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is speaking out this week to send a chilling warning to Hollywood about artificial intelligence (AI). Indeed, the powers at be in the entertainment industry would do well to listen to this one before it’s too late.

Grammer’s Warning To Hollywood

AI has become more powerful than ever, and Hollywood is using it more and more. This doesn’t sit well with Grammer, who firmly believes that AI is “dangerous.” That’s why he’s sounding the alarm.

“What I’m a little sad about is our prevalence these days to come up with so many, as they try to say deepfakes,” Grammer, 70, told Fox News. “You know, the ones who say it usually are the ones who are actually doing it. It’s a very, very strange game out there.”

Grammer admits that AI can be beneficial in some areas, particularly in the medical field. However, he has serious concerns about how the system can potentially fabricate someone’s identity in seconds.

“I recognize the validity and the potential in AI,” Grammer explained. “Especially in medicine and a number of other things.”

“But AI still is… I mean, I know they’re working on AGI now, which is probably a different animal, the one that maybe we should be more alarmed about,” he added.

Grammer Doubles Down

Not stopping there, Grammer proceeded to double down on his concerns about AI and the integrity behind it.

“AI is never any better than the people who programmed it,” he continued. “But of course, now, it’s self-teaching, and maybe it will actually find a way to enhance its abilities beyond what the human input’s been.”

Grammer has enjoyed decades of success in Hollywood. During that time, he’s been given tons of scripts that have tons of human depth. Grammer does not believe that AI will ever be able to replicate the genuineness of that.

“I’m still fairly confident that it will never reflect the same spontaneity that is the human being,” he stated. “And so watching a human being — the real human being — will always be more interesting.”

“We have to return to a sense of integrity and basically good manners,” Grammer concluded.

Grammer’s Strong Christian Faith

Unlike many Hollywood stars, Grammer actually has a good head on his shoulders. In fact, he has long been one of the only openly devout Christians in Hollywood.

“I’ve had hiccups. I’ve had some tragic times. I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them,” he previously told USA Today

“Sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it,” Grammer continued. “Like, ‘Where were you?’ That kind of thing. But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus. It’s not cavalier – Jesus made a difference in my life. That’s not anything I’ll apologize for.”

Grammer has also opened up about his passion for the Bible.

“I’m kind of a Bible guy,” he told Fox News in 2023. “I’ve been reading the Bible all my life. I turn to it for prayer, for reflection, for information, and I just always have. It’s just always been sort of at my fingertips throughout my life, ever since I was a boy.”

AI is progressing faster than anyone ever could have imagined. In the end, Hollywood would do well to heed Grammer’s warning about this technology before it’s too late!
