The singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson stopped one of her concerts in Las Vegas on Saturday night when one of the members of her band shocked her with a musical surprise.
Clarkson Stops Concert
Clarkson, 43, was introducing a song for the Kellyoke portion of the performance, telling the crowd that “this is one of my favorite songs to cover.”
“Look nothing is better than the original,” Clarkson acknowledged. “I’m going to own that right now, but I’m going to do my best to just, like, have fun with it, so this is Radiohead’s Creep.”
Clarkson then referred to the feathers on her jumpsuit when she admitted “I’m shedding, did you see it?”
As the band played the intro of the song, Clarkson was suddenly rendered speechless when the band entered soulful strings into the harmonies.
“Oh my god, I missed this part in rehearsal,” Clarkson said as the camera panned over to her cellist.
“That was so beautiful. I can’t even… Ismail.. what the [expletive[?” Clarkson exclaimed as the audience and band alike burst out laughing.
“We did this in soundcheck and you did not do that,” she added as the band member kept playing with a huge grin on his face.
“Can we do it again? I wasn’t ready,” Clarkson continued. “Do it again, I want to watch!”
“Beautiful!” she yelled as the band played the intro again.
Clarkson finally began to sing the song, which perfectly showcased her incredible vocal range. Once the song ended, Clarkson walked over to her band member Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut and gave him a huge hug.

‘So Incredibly Beautiful…’
Clarkson later shared the clip to Instagram, where it immediately went viral.
“I love to perform this song so much!! Also, @ismacello, that was so incredibly beautiful!” she wrote in the caption alongside the hashtags “#Kellyoke,” “#StudioSession,” and “#KellyInVegas.”
Bombut replied in the comments, writing, “I have no words. It’s been such a blessing to have the opportunity to share the stage with you. Forever grateful @kellyclarkson.”
Clarkson’s Fans Respond
Fans were also quick to praise this performance in the comments section.
“She is THE American idol always & forever!!” one social media user commented. This was a reference to Clarkson winning the first season of American Idol back in 2002.
“I have a feeling Kelly Clarkson doesn’t truly understand how amazing she is and how much she means to the millennial and gen z generations,” another fan commented. “You are the most incredibly talented artist we have hands down.”
“You are our constant,” this social media user continued. This fan added, “You are our generation Cher, Madonna, Gladys Knight, I think I could go forever…You are just a joy to watch and will forever be that way. Love you!!!!!”
“@kellyclarkson is one of the most sincere and genuine artists around, aside from being insanely talented,” a third fan commented. “It’s like watching your best friend up on stage. And she kills it every time.”
Clarkson launched her Las Vegas residency last month. It is scheduled to run through November with 18 total shows.
