Earlier this week, we reported that Kelly Clarkson was demanding that staffers on her eponymous talk show compliment her on her 60-pound weight loss. She even admitted to battling with her HR department about this.

Now, insiders on The Kelly Clarkson Show are firing back by accusing the original American Idol winner of being “ungrateful.” Indeed, she has been speaking out against her talk show quite a bit as of late. Her colleagues there have finally had enough.

‘Kelly Clarkson Is Ungrateful’

“Kelly Clarkson is ungrateful, and she fails to recognize how her staff uprooted their lives in Los Angeles and left their homes to relocate to New York because they believed in her and they loved working for her,” a source told Daily Mail.

This comes after Clarkson missed multiple episodes of her talk show back in March. At the time, she claimed that she missed the shows due to an unspecified “personal matter.” In the months since then, rumors have swirled that Clarkson wants to quit her talk show when her contract expires next year. This has left her staffers feeling “abandoned” and “disrespected.”

“For her to abandon her own show and then come out months later and say that she did not agree with the way that HR handled comments she made about weight is incredibly disrespectful,” the insider lamented.

Clarkson’s Weight Comments

The weight comments in question were made by Clarkson when she performed at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey last Saturday night. It started when a fan told her that she looked “sexy.” Clarkson responded by expressing her frustration that her talk show staffers don’t compliment her weight loss enough.

“Every time I go to an HR meeting, I’m like, ‘How have I not been fired?’… they say you’re not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say [expletive] that,” Clarkson said. “Because some of those [expletives] are out here working, and we’re trying, and I want every mother-[expletive] that passes me to go, ‘Damn. Well done.'”

Clarkson went on to reveal that she has been scolded by HR for complimenting someone else’s transformation.

“They were like, ‘Well, it might make people feel bad that they looked bad before,'” she recalled. “I was fat before, so I’m saying I want you to say, ‘Damn.'”

Clarkson’s Staffers Fire Back

Needless to say, these comments did not go over with Clarkson’s talk show staffers.

“Kelly’s appeal was that she was relatable. She made people laugh and she made people feel good about themselves,” the source continued. “She has struggled with weight loss and it was a big part of her story.”

“But suddenly she loses all her weight in an over a short period of time and now it feels like she is focused solely on her image,” the insider added. “Kelly has caused heartbreak among staff.”

It’s been rumored that NBC is preparing to replace Clarkson when her contract expires next year. The former TODAY show anchor Hoda Kotb, 60, has been tapped as a possible replacement for her.

“There’s a long list of names and Hoda is part of that list,” another source told Page Six.

Clarkson has yet to comment on the backlash over her weight comments. Only time will tell if The Kelly Clarkson Show continues!
