We previously reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.
Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”
Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time. Now, insiders are claiming that Urban is being “extra secretive” about who he’s dating in the wake of this split.
Urban Keeps Dating Life ‘Extra Secretive’
A source told The Globe that Urban “has always been private but now that he’s going through this divorce from Nicole, he’s extra secretive.”
“He wants to sow his oats and enjoy himself, but the last thing he needs is for that to get out,” the insider continued.
The source went on to say that “any woman who goes out with Keith has to sign a very detailed non-disclosure agreement. He also won’t meet anyone out in public. They have to be willing to come over.”
Urban is reportedly also concerned about his and Kidman’s two teenage daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
“Keith admits that having these sorts of rules for his love life makes things more complicated, but for now at least, that’s the only way this will work for him,” the insider explained. “He wants to keep things as amicable as he can for the sake of the girls.”
Urban’s efforts appear to be paying off so far. Indeed, the identity of his “mystery girlfriend” still remains a secret at this time.
“People have just been grasping at straws trying to figure out who he’s been seeing. It’’s been a guessing game,” the source concluded. “Keith’s pretty proud of that because it goes to show [that] he’s chosen the right people to surround himself with.”
Urban And Kidman’s Split
Unbeknownst to fans, Urban and Kidman secretly separated back in June. Urban was the one who initiated the split, and he immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.
Kidman then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Another insider told US Weekly. that Kidman “had faith they could work it out” after being “quietly separated for a while.”
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
