It’s been two months since we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had finalized their divorce. This came after 19 years of marriage and two daughters together.
Now, insiders are claiming that Keith has been left “heartbroken” after he was allegedly “snubbed” by their 17 year-old daughter Sunday Rose, who is a rising model.
Sunday ‘Snubs’ Keith
While being interviewed by Elle Australia, Sunday failed to mention her father even one time. In contrast, she was quick to praise her mother Nicole, describing her as being one of the biggest inspirations in her life.
According to Sunday, it was Nicole who first got her interested in modeling when she would take her to photoshoots with her when she was just a small child.
“My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,’ Sunday Rose told the publication,” Sunday gushed. “She is a key part of everything I do.”
Sunday went on to say that her beloved mother has given her great advice when it comes to her modeling career.
“The biggest piece of industry advice Mum has given to me is to always be on time,” Sunday said. She also said that Nicole has given her some great travel tips, which have come in handy in the international modeling industry.
“I’ve travelled my whole life and my mum is a really good traveller, so she has taught me how to be one, too, which makes it so fun to travel and enjoy all the different places,” Sunday concluded.
Keith Left Devastated
As a major country music star, Keith is also an international celebrity who has traveled the world. He’s undoubtedly tried to give Sunday advice too over the years. Despite this, he was still not interview once.
Keith hasn’t been seen in public with Sunday and her sister Faith Margaret, 15, since splitting from Nicole in September of last year. Nicole has primary custody of both girls.
Insiders close to Keith told New Idea that he has been left rattled by Sunday’s interview. Indeed, it seems that this snub from his daughter has him feeling “just numb.”
“Keith doesn’t know what to say, but he’s trying to put on a brave front,” said one source. “He knows he has to be patient. However, this latest snub – so publicly, there in black and white – has stumped him.”
“It’s like he doesn’t exist,” the insider added.
As for Nicole, she publicly addressed her divorce from Keith for the first time last week.
“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” Nicole told Variety. “What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect.”
“I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be,” she continued. “My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Nicole And Keith’s Divorce
Nicole and Keith secretly separated in June of last year, unbeknownst to their fans. Keith was the one who initiated the split. He then immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.
Nicole then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Nicole filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Another insider told US Weekly that Nicole “had faith they could work it out.” Indeed, she still had hope despite being “quietly separated for a while.
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
Judging by Sunday’s latest interview, it seems that she and her sister have taken Nicole’s side in this split.
Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. If there truly is a rift between Keith and his daughters, we can only hope and pray that they can find a way to mend it.
