It’s been two months since we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had finalized their divorce. This came after 19 years of marriage and two daughters together.

Now, insiders are revealing that Urban took on a modest new job in the wake of this split. Indeed, it seems that Urban resorted to performing on a cruise ship in a desperate move to “pay the bills.”

Urban Takes Modest Gig To ‘Pay The Bills’

After his divorce, Urban, 58, booked a gig at the star-studded Top Shelf Country Cruise. He reportedly set sail from Florida to the Bahamas from February 27 to March 6.

“Cruise ships are not exactly the dream gig, but they pay the bills – and it gives Keith something to focus on,” an insider told New Idea earlier this week.

“It’s the kind of gig that Keith would have turned his nose up at during his marriage to Nicole Kidman,” the source continued. “He’s trying to stay busy now that his divorce is finalized.”

Friends close to Urban, who has an estimated net worth of $75 million, are assuming that his bank account took a hit in the wake of his split from Kidman, who has an estimated net worth of $250 million.

“When there’s that much money involved in a split, the lawyers don’t come cheap, regardless of the outcome,” the insider added. This source explained that small gigs “help to keep his cash flow steady.”

Meanwhile, Urban is currently figuring out “exciting plans” for the second half of 2026.

“He has every intention of ending 2026 the exact opposite of how it started – on a total high,” the source concluded.

Urban And Kidman Split

Kidman and Urban secretly separated in June of last year, unbeknownst to their fans. Urban was the one who initiated the split. He then immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.

Kidman then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.

“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

Another insider told US Weekly that Kidman “had faith they could work it out.” Indeed, she still had hope despite being “quietly separated for a while.

“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”

Yet another insider told Page Six that “sometimes relationships just run their course.” This source added that Kidman “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”

Divorce is never easy, particularly after so many years together. Please join us in saying a prayer for both Urban and Kidman as they navigate this challenging new chapter of their lives!
