Earlier this month, we reported that the Oscar-winning star Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage. At the time, insiders were claiming that Kidman was desperately “fighting to save her marriage.” They also alleged that she’d felt “blindsided” by Urban wanting to separate.

Hours later, however, Kidman, 58, officially filed for divorce from Urban, 57. This came amidst rumors that Urban had already moved on with a “new girlfriend.”

Now, Urban has canceled one of his concerts at the last minute as he struggles with this divorce battle.

Urban Cancels Concert

Urban had been set to perform at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina as part of his High and Alive tour on Thursday night. However, he canceled the concert at the last minute.

“Keith Urban has been advised by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, from the Vanderbilt Voice Center, to cancel his performance in Greenville, SC tonight at Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis which began earlier this week,” read a statement posted to the venue’s website. “He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back onstage for his Nashville show.”

Urban himself issued a personal message of apology to fans.

“Hey Greenville,  I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show …. I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted,” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

Urban Is ‘In Hiding’ Amidst Divorce

This comes after insiders spoke out to claim that Urban is “embarrassed” and “in hiding” amidst what he sees as the backlash against him for his divorce.

“Things are just too awkward right now and Keith just doesn’t have the confidence to face all the press,” a source close to Urban told Woman’s Day. “He’s got paps hunting him down and he’s no longer taking direct calls. Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce.”

On Wednesday night, Urban skipped the premiere event of his new reality television competition show The Road. The event was held on 15 October on the rooftop of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. Though Urban lives in Nashville, he was nowhere to be found.

“He’s annoyed to have missed this. But part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce,” the source explained. “The last thing he needs is to overshadow his new show with all his personal issues.”

“He knows he’s being painted as the bad guy and he doesn’t want that to be the focus of The Road – he owes that to the contestants and crew,” the insider added.

Urban And Kidman’s History

Urban and Kidman met back in 2005, and they married the next year in 2006. They went on to welcome two daughters together: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Sadly, Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time.

This was Urban’s first and only marriage. Meanwhile, Kidman was married to her fellow A-list Hollywood star Tom Cruise from 1990 until 2001. Their divorce was extremely bitter, which may explain why she was particularly so reluctant to split from Urban. Indeed, insiders have claimed that Kidman fought to save her marriage with everything she has.

“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

This has clearly been a very difficult time for Urban, Kidman, and their entire family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them!
