It’s been nearly two weeks since the pop star Katy Perry went to space for eleven minutes as part of Jeff Bezos’ all-female Blue Origin crew.
Unfortunately for Perry, this has since backfired on her big time. Indeed, Perry has been hit with a ton of backlash in the days since she returned to Earth, as many feel that her space flight was both “tone deaf” and “embarrassing.”
Now, a renowned public relations expert is speaking out to warn that Perry is facing “career extinction.” He’s also revealing the one thing that she can do to save herself.
PR Expert Weighs In
PR expert Eric Schiffer told Daily Mail that Perry’s reputation is in “tatters” in the wake of her Blue Origin flight. He alleged that she is an “out-of-touch” celebrity who keeps making “boneheaded moves in a desperate bid for relevance.”
“Katy Perry’s reputation is vibe surfing the toilet drain faster than Blue Origin re-entered the atmosphere,” he said. “Katy’s entering an area beyond career crisis into career extinction with a brand now synonymous with faux-feminist failure.”
“Katy went to space, but she still couldn’t find her lost fanbase. Even her backup dancers may be distancing themselves,” he continued. “She went to space for perspective, but Katy may soon need a telescope to see her career from here.”
Perry’s reputation had already been on shaky ground even before her space flight. Last year, she came under fire for collaborating with Dr. Luke on her album “123” despite her fellow singer Kesha’s allegations of abuse against him. Dr. Luke has denied her claims, but pop fans everywhere have nevertheless turned on him.
Perry linking herself to him certainly didn’t endear her to these fans. The Blue Origin space flight, however, seems to have been the nail in the coffin for Perry’s reputation.

Here’s How Perry Can Save Herself
“Katy preaches climate action while burning swimming pools of jet fuel for PR,” Schiffer added. “She’s become a PR pyromaniac, causing her reputation to go boom.”
Schiffer went on to reveal the one thing that he thinks Perry can do to save herself. He believes that her only chance of saving her career is to go away for awhile.
“She’s become the poster child for why some celebrities should disappear. Katy Perry should vanish from the public eye before she becomes a full-time meme,” he explained. “Katy’s an out-of-touch celebrity elite and magnet for making boneheaded moves in a desperate bid for relevance.”
Schiffer concluded by saying that Perry needs to take a one year hiatus. He described this potential time off as being a “gift from the universe.”

Perry’s ‘Regrets’ After Going To Space
Perry went to space last Monday with CBS Mornings host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez. Of all the women, Perry has gotten the vast majority of the backlash. This has led to her having some “regrets” about this entire situation.
“Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it,” a source close to Perry told The Mail.
The insider went on to say that Perry “never expected the backlash.” In the end, the “Firework” singer has been left “disheartened” by the “uncalled for and upsetting” response to her Blue Origin mission.
Perry would do well to take Schiffer’s advice and go away for a little while in order to save her career. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like she’ll be doing that, as she just launched her Lifetimes Tour in Mexico City on Wednesday night. The international tour is set to take Perry all over the world, and it’s scheduled to last until December.
As you can see below, Perry is already being hit with backlash for this tour. She truly can’t win these days!
Only time will tell how successful this tour will be. It will certainly be interesting to see if Perry’s career can bounce back from this!
