Kate Hudson recently celebrated her 47th birthday on April 19th.
While some celebrities resist aging, Hudson is embracing it full-force.
Getting Older
Hudson recently appeared on the April 23rd episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The actress was discussing season 2 of Running Point with Fallon when he brought up her birthday.
Fallon wished Hudson a “happy belated birthday.”
She responded, “Thank you! I’m so old.”
Fallon shot back, “Oh, please!”
Hudson added, “No I love it. I like getting … I really think I’m going to be a great old person … Because I like it, because it gets better, so you don’t have to care as much.”
Birthday Celebrations
Fallon asked if Hudson celebrated her 47th in any special way, saying, “Did you have a rager? Did you have a party?”
Kate Hudson did have a party, though it may not be classified as a rager. “I had a crawfish boil,” she said, prompting a few laughs and giggles from the audience.
She added, “And I had a beignet cake. I got my crawfish in because yeah, I have to do that every crawfish season … Have you ever had a boil? It’s so fun … They boil it up and there’s corn, there’s sausage and potatoes and we just throw it on and listen to music.”
Fallon said the gathering seemed “so fun,” and Hudson smiled and stated, “It’s the best.”
Letting Loose for a Role
Earlier in 2026, Kate Hudson shared how she “just let myself be and enjoyed life” during preparation for her Oscar-nominated role in Song Sung Blue as Claire Cartwright-Sardina.
She shared with W Magazine in a January interview that, “This film was fun — I didn’t have to watch what I ate. I put on 15 pounds, just to be nice and soft. It was over the holiday season, so it was perfect. I wasn’t working out much.”
The actress also revealed that she “stayed away from skincare routines.”
“I just let myself be and enjoyed life,” Hudson said. “Although I also enjoy life when I’m disciplined and working out too, I’m not going to lie.”
Family Life
Kate Hudson is the proud mom of three. Her first son, Ryder (22), was born in 2004 with ex-husband Chris Robinson.
Her second son, Bingham (14), was born in 2011 with former fiancé Matt Bellamy.
Finally, her daughter Rani (7) was born in 2018 with her musician fiancé, Danny Fujikawa.
Upcoming Projects
Kate Hudson’s biggest upcoming project is the second season of her series Running Point. Season 2 premieres in April. While her 2025 film Song Sung Blue caused some 2026 Oscar buzz, there have been no other film or series confirmations from Hudson yet.
However, that doesn’t mean she’s out of the spotlight. Hudson has been to several high-profile events, including the 2026 TIME100 Gala and the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars party in March.
