The world is still in shock over the assassination of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He was tragically shot dead on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. Kirk was only 31 years-old. As of Friday morning, Kirk’s assassin has finally been apprehended.
Now, video is going viral showing the moment that Joe Rogan found out that Kirk had died while he was filming his popular podcast.
Rogan Learns Of Kirk’s Death
Rogan, 58, was interviewing the Hollywood star Charlie Sheen, 60, when the devastating news came in. The popular podcast host was visibly shocked by the news, putting his head in his hands as he had a look of sheer disbelief on his face.
“This just happened, we just found out Charlie Kirk was shot,” Rogan said. “Is he dead?”
“That’s [expletive] awful,” Sheen responded.
Rogan needed a moment to collect himself, taking a deep breath before exclaiming, “Whoa!”
“Murdered for having a different opinion from somebody else, different ideology from somebody else,” Sheen continued.
“Yeah,” a visibly dazed and stunned Rogan replied.
“Do they even have a suspect?” Rogan managed to ask his production crew.

Rogan Honors Kirk
Once he managed to collect himself, Rogan was able to pay tribute to Kirk.
“There’s going to be a lot of people celebrating this,” Rogan lamented. “It’s so scary. It’s so dangerous too, to celebrate or to in any way encourage this kind of behavior from human beings. … He’s not a violent guy. He was talking to people on college campuses.”
Rogan went on to say that Kirk “wasn’t even particularly rude. He tried to be pretty reasonable with people.”
“Everything I saw seemed reasonable,” Sheen said in agreement.
Rogan went on to talk about his personal experiences meeting Kirk.
“He was a very intelligent guy,” Rogan said. “Whether you agree with him or don’t, and there’s a lot of stuff that I didn’t agree with him on. That’s fine. You’re allowed to disagree with people without celebrating the fact they got shot.”
“Well, what you’re supposed to do with a guy like that, if you’re opposing him is debate him, right?” Rogan concluded. “Have a conversation where your argument is more compelling than his. That’s what people should be celebrating — discourse. You know, we used to do that.”

Megyn Kelly Breaks Down Over Kirk’s Murder
Rogan isn’t the only public figure who learned of Kirk’s death live on air. The former Fox News host Megyn Kelly broke down in tears as she revealed Kirk’s death while she spoke with Glenn Beck, CEO of Blaze Media.
“They’re reporting that Charlie has died,” Kelly said as she fought back tears. “That he’s dead at the age of 31, which he would have to be if that video was real.”
Beck also broke down in tears as he learned of Kirk’s passing.
“There’s no way he survived that,” Beck said. “The only good thing is: It had to have happened quickly.”
Kelly agreed, saying, “If you see the video, you do not see any suffering. He appears to have been spared the horrific moments after.”

Kirk’s History
Kirk was only 18 years-old when he founded Turning Point USA back in 2012. This is a conservative organization that is popular on college campuses around the country. Kirk was known for playing a huge role in mobilizing young voters to vote for Donald Trump in last year’s presidential election.
“One of the reasons why we got Trump is Charlie Kirk,” Kelly said after Kirk’s death. “We all play our part in some small way, but there is no denying the effect Charlie Kirk had on this election.”
Trump took to Truth Social to honor Kirk immediately after his death was announced.
“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
What happened to Kirk is nothing short of horrifying, and should be universally condemned regardless of politics. We applaud Rogan for taking the time to honor Kirk’s memory when so many of his fellow celebrities are staying silent.
Kirk is survived by his wife Erika and by their two young children. Please join us in saying a prayer for them.
Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
