It’s been one year since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. Now, insiders are claiming that Jennifer is “hoping” to get back with Ben. Unfortunately for her, however, he allegedly wants nothing to do with her.

Jennifer’s Hopes For Her And Ben

Last week, we reported that Ben, 53, gave Jennifer, 56, his entire share of their $60 million Beverly Hills, California mansion for free. He allegedly did this because he wanted a clean break from her.

Despite this, an insider told Star Magazine that Jennifer “can’t help but see it as proof he’s the good guy she fell in love with, and she’s back to hoping that somehow, they might be able to work it out.”

The source went on to say that this isn’t the case at all. Instead, Ben simply wants to buy his way out of a sticky situation.

“He feels like this will absolve him of the way he messed with her head [during their marriage],” the insider concluded. “But that’s typical of Ben — he’s trying to avoid drama and only creating more.”

Ben’s Gift To Jennifer

Court documents obtained by TMZ show that Ben and Jennifer modified their property settlement agreement, which shows a “transfer of property among spouses.” Sources have since spoken out to reveal that Ben gave Jennifer his entire stake of the property for free.

Ben and Jennifer bought this Beverly Hills mansion for $60.85 million back in June of 2023. At the time, they were still married.

The 38,000-square-foot home includes a whopping 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms and a full basketball court. Ben and Jennifer initially put it on the market in June of 2024. It was still sitting on the market when they finalized their divorce in January of 2025.

Last summer, Ben and Jennifer took the mansion off the market in a surprising “business decision.”

“While they’ve been hoping to sell the property, they’ve also been hesitant to take a big loss,” an insider told People Magazine at the time.

“They lowered the price to get more interest and when this didn’t happen, they were advised to take it off the market,” the source continued. “It was a business decision that they made together.”

The insider went on to say that “it’s a rough sellers market and especially for that price point.”

“Taking it off the market until it’s more of a seller friendly climate seems like the smartest decision,” the source added.

Jennifer And Ben’s History

Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on their second wedding anniversary in August of 2024. Though they were only married for two years, Jennifer and Ben’s love story goes back decades.

Jennifer and Ben met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.

Jennifer and Ben each went on to marry and divorce different people. She married the singer Marc Anthony while he married the former Alias star Jennifer Garner.

Jennifer and Marc were married from 2004 until 2014, welcoming twins during that time. Meanwhile, Ben was married to the former Alias actress from 2005 until 2018. During that time, they had three children.

Jennifer and Ben reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They then married in July of 2022. This was Jennifer’s fourth marriage, while it was Ben’s second.

Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Jennifer filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.

This is clearly one very complicated love story. Only time will tell if Jennifer gets her wish and gives things with Ben one more shot!
