It’s been one year since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. This week, Affleck gave Lopez a huge victory in the wake of their split.
Affleck’s Gift To Lopez
Affleck, 53, has reportedly given Lopez, 56, his entire share of their $60 million mansion for free.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show that Affleck and Lopez modified their property settlement agreement, which shows a “transfer of property among spouses.” Sources have since spoken out to reveal that Affleck gave Lopez his entire stake of the property for free.
Affleck and Lopez bought this Beverly Hills, California mansion for $60.85 million back in June of 2023. At the time, they were still married.
The 38,000-square-foot home includes a whopping 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms and a full basketball court. Affleck and Lopez initially put it on the market in June of 2024. It was still sitting on the market when they finalized their divorce in January of 2025.
Last summer, Affleck and Lopez took the mansion off the market in a surprising “business decision.”
“While they’ve been hoping to sell the property, they’ve also been hesitant to take a big loss,” an insider told People Magazine at the time.
“They lowered the price to get more interest and when this didn’t happen, they were advised to take it off the market,” the source continued. “It was a business decision that they made together.”
The insider went on to say that “it’s a rough sellers market and especially for that price point.”
“Taking it off the market until it’s more of a seller friendly climate seems like the smartest decision,” the source added.
After this latest development, however, it seems that the future of the mansion is entirely in the hands of Lopez.
Lopez Feels ‘Free’
This comes after Lopez said that she feels “free” one year on from her and Affleck’s divorce.
“I’m in my happy era,” Lopez told Good Morning America last month. “I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good.”
“I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s,” she explained. “And even before that, you know, I’ve always had a boyfriend. There was always kind of, like, someone in my life and so many other things that I felt like were out of my control, and I just am at a point in my life … where I really trust myself and have learned to kind of — I guess this sounds funny — appreciate myself a little bit more instead of being so hard on myself all the time and always trying to prove so many things.”
When asked if she’s currently dating anyone, Lopez replied, “No. No, I’m not. God forbid. I don’t want to ruin anything. It’s so nice right now. I’m so happy. It’s the best. I just feel really good right now.”
Lopez has got to be overjoyed that Affleck gave her his share of their mansion for free. Only time will tell what she ends up doing with it!
