It’s been ten months since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. Now, insiders are speaking out to claim that Lopez has only just “accepted” that her split from Affleck is permanent.
Last week, we reported on rumors that Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, had rekindled their romance. This came after the two were spotted looking quite chummy on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of her new movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman. Lopez stars in it, and Affleck executive produced the film.
Sources claimed at the time that Lopez and Affleck were giving their romance one more shot. Insiders close to Lopez, however, are saying that this is completely untrue.
Lopez And Affleck Reportedly Done
“There is nothing going on between them,” an insider told US Weekly. This source added that Lopez is currently thriving on her own and enjoying life while also focusing on her 17 year-old twins Max and Emme, who she shares with her ex-husband, the singer Marc Anthony.
“Jen feels more comfortable in her skin than ever,” a second source stated. “There’s a sense of independence and peace about her. She’s in a really good headspace right now.”
This insider went on to say that “she’s accepted [her relationship with Affleck] ran its course.”
“There’s still a lot of love between them, but they both understand they shouldn’t be married,” the second source explained. “There is no ‘So-and-so did this’ or ‘This was the big event.'”
A third source claimed that Lopez has “no regrets” about her marriage to Affleck because she is “grateful for the lessons she’s learned” from it.
Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Indeed, Affleck married Jennifer Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. They had three children together before they divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He was the third of her four husbands.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Lopez Looks To The Future
According to one of the insiders close to Lopez, she is firmly focused on the future these days.
“After everything that went on in her personal life, she’s focused on doing what she loves most, which is performing and creating,” said one of the sources.
Another insider assured fans that Lopez “doesn’t have anybody to think about romantically, which is working for her and keeping her focused. Being single is really working for her in that respect.”
