Yesterday, we reported that Howard Stern’s eponymous SiriusXM radio show is “to be canceled.” Now, Stern has been hit with more humiliation as Jimmy Kimmel is getting involved.
Stern And His Staffers Blindsided
On Tuesday afternoon, Stern’s staff of 95 people gathered in Manhattan to hold a “team building” bash. Stern himself didn’t join them, as he was out in the Hamptons, where he has lived for years.
At around 5:30pm, the staffers got the shock of their lives when news broke alleging that Stern was close to walking away from SiriusXM completely because the station couldn’t even come close to meeting his financial demands.
“The mood changed quickly. No one knew this was coming… and we couldn’t get any answers,” one shocked insider told Daily Mail.
Staffers began desperately calling executive producer Gary Dell’Abate repeatedly, but he didn’t pick up the phone.
What staffers were not aware of was the fact that Stern was just as blindsided as they were. Indeed, he only learned of the news from a Google Alert that came in as he was finishing eating dinner.
Ouch, that had to have stung for Stern!

Kimmel Calls Stern
Stern’s famous friends immediately began calling him frantically. He allegedly ignored calls from big names like the comedic actress Ali Wentworth and the Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.
However, Stern reportedly picked up the phone for Kimmel.
“First I’m hearing of it,” was all that a visibly stunned Stern could manage to say on his call with Kimmel.
Stern decided to host an “emergency show” on Wednesday morning. However, he didn’t use it to address speculation about his show’s future. Instead, Stern simply talked to Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, another close friend of his.
At the end of this show, Stern claimed to his listeners that he’ll be back “very soon.”
”We’ll be back on the air, live,” Stern said. “I’ve been refueling, so to speak.”
Unfortunately for Stern, however, the chances of that happening aren’t looking so good.
“Stern’s contract is up in the fall and while Sirius is planning to make him an offer, they don’t intend for him to take it,” a source told The Sun. “Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment.”

Did Stern Get Too Political?
After news of the potential cancelation of The Howard Stern Show began to circulate, President Donald Trump spoke out to weigh in.
“You know when he went down?” Trump said of Stern. “Before … when he endorsed Hillary Clinton, he lost his audience. People said, ‘Give me a break.’ He went down when he endorsed Hillary Clinton.”
Trump had been a frequent guest on Stern’s radio show before his presidency. A devoted liberal, Stern quickly turned on Trump after he first took office.
“Whenever you put him on the air, and this was before he was running for president, he was an open book, he would say anything. This is why he was so great, there was no filter,” Stern told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in 2019.
“I did not vote for Donald Trump,” Stern continued. “I wanted to see Hillary Clinton win. The way I helped Donald was I let him come on and be a personality. Whether you liked him or not, people related to him as a human being. I wanted to do that for Hillary.”
Stern’s Big Mistake
Stern’s radio show has only gotten increasingly liberal in the years since then. While The Howard Stern Show was once an apolitical program that everyone could enjoy regardless of their political leanings, Stern has alienated half of his audience by frequently using it to preach leftwing talking points. This same mistake has been made by Kimmel and by Stephen Colbert, whose late night talk show was recently canceled by CBS.

In the end, it seems that Americans are tired of liberal elite celebrities like Stern lecturing the rest of us about politics. Kimmel might want to take notice, because if he doesn’t change his ways soon, he might soon end up out of the job just like his buddies Stern and Colbert!
