Last week, we reported that Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi had allegedly backtracked on fleeing America for England and were plotting a return to the U.S. This came months after they fled the country due to the second presidential victory of Donald Trump.

Now, insiders close to DeGeneres and de Rossi are speaking out to reveal the real reason why they want to come back to America.

DeGeneres and de Rossi Are ‘Bored’

DeGeneres, 67, and de Rossi, 52, are reportedly eager to return to sunny California because they are “bored out of their minds” in England. They are also allegedly desperate to revive their respective dead careers in show business.

Those close to DeGeneres and de Rossi say that they feel isolated from their A-list circle of friends. Indeed, it seems that very few of them have actually made the long trip from California to rural England to see them. DeGeneres has also become frustrated with the time difference, which she feels has negatively impacted her attempts to launch her Hollywood comeback.

“Ellen thought putting an ocean between herself and Hollywood would give her room to reset, but a year on, she’s learned that breathing space isn’t the same as forward motion,” an insider told Radar Online. “The quiet is driving her nuts. Portia’s restless, Ellen’s restless, and they both feel their careers have been left sitting in the dark.”

“Ellen and Portia miss their crowd, that spark – the whole ecosystem they built in Los Angeles,” the source continued. “They want to plug back into it.”

DeGeneres Disillusioned With Life In England

There have been signs that DeGeneres had become disillusioned with her life in England.

“I want to have fun, I want to do something,” she said onstage back in September. “I do like my chickens, but I’m a little bit bored.”

Friends of DeGeneres are now saying that this was no joke. Instead, it was a telling confession that speaks volumes to how DeGeneres is feeling.

“She wasn’t exaggerating,” another insider explained. “She’s craving a real platform again – something beyond those middle-of-the-night L.A. Zoom sessions.”

As for de Rossi, who is best known for starring in the comedic TV show Arrested Development, she informally retired from acting in 2018. After a year in rural England, however, she’s itching to make a comeback of her own.

“Portia didn’t think she’d miss any of it, but sitting around while Ellen’s tied up on nonstop Zoom calls has made her reassess,” a friend of the couple’s alleges. “She wants direction again – something creative, something out in the world.”

DeGeneres ‘Desperate’ For Showbiz Comeback

In the end, both DeGeneres and de Rossi have learned the hard way that if they want to make comebacks in Hollywood, they can’t do it from rural England.

“Ellen is realizing it’s hard to close deals or hold meaningful creative meetings from across the pond,” a friend stated. “Zoom can only do so much, and L.A. thrives on face-to-face interaction.”

“Ellen is desperate for a fully-fledged showbiz comeback,” the friend added. “Whether that means a sitcom, comedy specials, or producing, she is up for anything at this point. And Portia wants to re-engage with the world. Both of them are craving a life that’s more than rainy pastures, cow muck, and chickens.”

This combined with feeling alienated is what’s led to DeGeneres and de Rossi coming crawling back to America.

“They figured friends would be flying in constantly,” the friend concluded. “But it’s the Cotswolds – beautiful, sure, but it’s hardly a quick hop from Malibu, and they have been left feeling pretty abandoned by their old circles.”

DeGeneres’ Previous Comments

DeGeneres was previously singing a very different tune when it came to this move. When asked by a reporter back in July if she’d moved to the U.K. because of Trump, Degeneres immediately replied “Yes.”

“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,'” DeGeneres said. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.'”

Not stopping there, DeGeneres then claimed that they were loving their new life in rural England.

“It’s absolutely beautiful,” she alleged. “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture – everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.

“It’s clean,” DeGeneres added. “Everything here is just better – the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.”

Oh, how times have changed, right Ellen?

What’s happened to DeGeneres and de Rossi over the past year should serve as a cautionary tale to liberals everywhere. Indeed, liberal elites like DeGeneres and de Rossi love to complain about America. As soon as they move abroad, however, they quickly learn just how good they had it in the U.S.

Here’s hoping that if DeGeneres follows through with coming back to America, she’s a little more appreciative of everything our great country has to offer. Good riddance, Ellen DeGeneres!
