The country music legend Dolly Parton has invited Kate Middleton – newly cancer-free! – and the rest of the British royal family to enjoy Thanksgiving with her at Dollywood.
Dolly Invites Kate And Royals To Thanksgiving
“Oh, I would absolutely love for them to come to Dollywood, that would be fantastic!” Dolly, 78, told Closer. “The kids could go on all the rides, and we would treat them like royalty!”
“I’d give Kate my mashed potatoes – I wouldn’t put on any airs for them. I would just let them enjoy what we enjoy, and I’m sure that’s the way they would want it,” she continued. “I would love to have those kids at Dollywood.”
Can you imagine the culture shock of the little royal kids running around Dollywood, Tennessee?
Last year, Dolly tragically missed her chance to meet Kate when a scheduling conflict prohibited her from accepting an invitation to Buckingham Palace for tea. In August of 2023, Dolly admitted that she “felt so bad” that she could not make it. She also joked that Kate “wasn’t going to promote my rock album, so I had to say no.”
Dolly Loves The Royal Family
In February of last year, Dolly told Business Insider that she has always been interested in the royal family. Even as a child, she saw them as “people living in another world with riches and crowns and jewelry.”
Which, honestly, doesn’t sound so different from living at Dollywood!
Dolly got to meet Queen Elizabeth back in 1977, and she found her to be “very sweet.”
“Even though you have to do the protocol, you have to bow and all that, I could tell that she didn’t care about that,” Dolly recalled. “That’s just something she had to do. And if somebody made a mistake, it was okay.”
“I was scared to death that I was not going to know how to curtsy, that I wasn’t going to bend right, but she was just very warm, very sweet, and I could tell she was a very giving person,” she added. “And just meeting the Queen of England, just to meet a queen, it was amazing.”
Kate’s Cancer Battle
This comes after a difficult year for Kate. She has never specified the type of cancer that she had. Instead, she only revealed that it was detected during “planned abdominal surgery” in January. Kate added that she would be undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.”
On September 9, Kate revealed that she is “cancer free.” She said this in a video message that featured William and their three children.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate began in the video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she continued. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

Kate Is ‘Cancer Free’
Kate went on to say that she’s “cancer free.” However, she knows that she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she said. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
Only time will tell if Kate and her family take up Dolly on her Thanksgiving invitation. We can only hope that this ends up happening!
