Fans of the Christian pop star Justin Bieber have been fearing for his wellbeing as of late, as he has appeared increasingly disheveled when he’s spotted in public. Earlier this month, Bieber was even seen smoking a bong while sitting on an electric bike in photos that he posted to Instagram himself.
Now, Bieber has finally spoken out to address these concerns. Unfortunately, he did so in a truly heartbreaking way.
Bieber’s Heartbreaking Post
On Thursday, Bieber hinted that he has imposter syndrome over the rapid rise to fame that he had as a child.
“People told me my whole life ‘wow Justin you deserve that,'” Bieber wrote on his Instagram Story, which disappears after 24 hours. “And I personally have always felt unworthy, like I was a fraud, like when people told me I deserve something.”
“It made me feel sneaky like, damn if they only knew my thoughts,” he continued. “How judgmental I am, how selfish I really am… They wouldn’t be saying this.”
“I say all this to say, if you feel sneaky, welcome to the club,” Bieber concluded. “I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days.”
Bieber’s History
Bieber was only 15 years-old when he was discovered on YouTube. From there, he was quickly signed to Usher’s record label. Bieber’s debut single “Baby” was released in 2010, and it was a massive hit. Since then, he has become one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Indeed, Bieber has sold an estimated 150 million records worldwide.
Bieber married Hailey Baldwin, the 28 year-old niece of Alec Baldwin, in 2018. They welcomed their first child, a son named Jack Blues, in 2024. Earlier this month, however, Bieber stirred up fears for his wellbeing by posting his now-infamous photo of himself smoking a bong on an electric bike.

Fans Respond
“Get off the drugs and raise your son,” one fan commented in response to the above image. Another added, “Aren’t you in your 30s? This is a post a 14 year old would make. Man up and be a DAD.”
“I hope Jack doesn’t have to be around all this smoke,” a third fan commented. “A kid doesn’t deserve it.”
The concerns over Bieber’s disheveled appearance got so bad that his rep was forced to speak out to address them last month.
“The recurring narrative that Justin is using hard drugs is absolutely not true,” the rep stated, going on to claim that Bieber is “in one of the best places in his life.”
The rep then alleged that Bieber is “actively parenting his newborn son’ Jack with wife Hailey and putting focus into making new music.”
According to the rep, Bieber has had a “very transformative” year in which he has “ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”

Bieber’s Christian Faith
Bieber has long been one of the only openly devout Christians in the entertainment world. Back in 2015, Bieber revealed that his goal in life is to “live like Jesus.”
“Not be Jesus-I could never-I don’t want that to come across weird,” Bieber said at the time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins.”
“Sometimes when I don’t feel like doing something, but I know it’s right, I remember, I’m pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don’t have to feel what we should have to feel,” he continued. “We have the greatest healer of all and his name is Jesus Christ. And he really heals. This is it. It’s time that we all share our voice. Whatever you believe. Share it. I’m at a point where I’m not going to hold this in.”
Bieber doubled down on this in 2020, when he took to Instagram to say that he wants “to love and look like Jesus and point people to his miraculous healing power.”
“As all of you know by now I am a Jesus guy,” he wrote in this post. “I follow the teachings of Jesus and believe he is the Messiah.”
