We previously reported that Rosie O’Donnell was begging for prayers after her troubled daughter Chelsea was sentenced to prison. She began her latest prison stint at the beginning of December. This came after she violated the conditions of her probation.
Now, what Chelsea did to get her probation revoked has been revealed to the public for the first time.
Chelsea Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Man
Chelsea, 28, violated the terms of her probation when she was accused of sexually assaulting a man by touching his genitals without permission. This was revealed after TMZ obtained a report written by the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections that explained why Chelsea’s probation was terminated in at the end of 2025.
According to the report, this alleged assault took place in a car. Chelsea was driving it, and the alleged victim was sitting diagonal to her in the backseat’s passenger side.
Chelsea allegedly reached back and began touching the man on his inner thigh.
“After pushing her hand away, Ms. O’Donnell then touched his genitals,” the report states.
When the man turned down Chelsea’s sexual advances, she became upset. She allegedly began driving erratically and stopped paying attention to the road entirely.
Chelsea Violates Her Probation
Chelsea had been on probation for three 2024 charges involving drugs and child neglect. Under the terms of her probation, Chelsea had to take part in a program with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team. One of the rules of this program was that Chelsea had to obtain permission before engaging in any romantic, dating, or sexual relationships.
Chelsea denied sexually assaulting the man when officials spoke to her. Instead, she claimed that everything that happened was consensual. However, she did admit to having sexual relationships with four others between July of 2025 and September of 2025.
This all resulted in Chelsea’s probation being revoked, and she was sentenced to prison time in October of 2025. A Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team official told US Weekly at the time that Chelsea’s probation was revoked due to sexual assault allegations, but no further details were given.
When she was given probation, Chelsea’s original sentence was “stayed.” This meant that all she had to do was follow the rules and she would have kept her probation. Clearly, however, she could not do that.
Page Six reported that “the conditions of Chelsea’s six-year probation included absolute sobriety, no possession of alcohol or another controlled substance without a valid prescription, no contact with any known drug users or sellers and no possession or ownership of any firearm.”
Chelsea’s Arrests
Chelsea was arrested in September of 2024 after police were called for a domestic dispute that she was in with her boyfriend at the time. When they arrived, officers found a meth pipe allegedly left within her son’s reach. They also discovered “a black and silver digital scale, some used gem bags with white residue, and a sharps container that had more used and unused hypodermic needles.”
One month later, Chelsea was arrested again. On that occasion, she allegedly tried to throw a meth pipe out the window of her car. Chelsea did this after a police officer pulled her over.
Chelsea was arrested yet again the very next month. On that occasion, she was charged with possession of methamphetamine, bail jumping and possession of narcotic drugs.
Chelsea pled guilty to all three counts in March of 2025. She was given a sentence of two years of probation for each of the three counts. This amounted to six years in total. In the wake of her probation being revoked, however, it seems likely that she’ll likely be serving those six years behind bars.
Rosie Speaks Out
Chelsea is one of Rosie’s five adopted children. Rosie, who has fled the country and moved to Ireland over Donald Trump’s presidency, has long been open about Chelsea’s struggles. After Chelsea’s probation was revoked, Rosie took to Instagram to post a photo of her troubled daughter from her childhood.
“My child Chelsea Belle—before addiction took over her life,” Rosie said. “I loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future—prayers welcomed.”
Chelsea entered the Taycheedah Correctional Institution (TCI) in Wisconsin on November 18. Here’s hoping that once she serves out her sentence, Chelsea can turn her life around and become a productive member of society.
