Last week, we reported that the former Full House and Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure had spoken out to pay tribute to the conservative activist Charlie Kirk after his brutal assassination.
Just four days later, Cameron Bure’s daughter Natasha Bure married the former Disney Channel star Bradley Perry.
Now, in a new interview, Cameron Bure is opening up about how difficult it was to navigate her grief for Kirk while attending her only daughter’s wedding.
‘A Difficult Week…’
Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday, September 10. Cameron Bure’s daughter Natasha then got married on Sunday, September 14. Needless to say, going from the low of Kirk being murdered to the high of her daughter getting married was not easy for Cameron Bure.
“It was also a difficult week with the assassination of Charlie, and it was really devastating,” Cameron Bure, 49, told Fox News. “This juxtaposition of emotions — feeling grief and wanting to celebrate the wedding, all at the same time.”
“I kind of laid low for the most part,” she continued. “But if you’ve been around here for any length of time, you know that I’m never going to stop sharing my faith. I’m never going to stop encouraging people to read the Bible. It truly is my favorite thing to do because I love God and I love Jesus, and I want to share that with all of you.”
Kirk’s Assassination
Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. While the silence from much of Hollywood was deafening in the wake of his murder, Cameron Bure took to Instagram to pay tribute to Kirk within hours of his death.
“We love you Charlie,” Cameron Bure wrote. “Well done good and faithful servant.”
Days later, Cameron Bure’s daughter married Perry. This came as a shock to many, as they had managed to keep both their engagement and their wedding a secret from the public until after it happened. Natasha later revealed that she and Perry had actually become engaged back in April.
“These last few months, but last week, has been crazy,” Cameron Bure wrote on her Instagram Stories. “We kept a really big secret, and it was so fun to keep, I’ll be honest. And, at times, it was hard.”
‘May God Bless…’
After the wedding, Cameron Bure shared photos of the nuptials on Instagram.
“We introduce to you Mr. And Mrs. Perry!!” the proud mother wrote. “A huge congratulations to the sweetest @bradleysperry and our beautiful daughter @natashabure on the celebration of their marriage!”
“We couldn’t have asked for a kinder man than Bradley to love and care for our girl,” she continued. “Natasha, you are radiant inside and out and are already the best wife to your beloved. My heart swells with happiness for you two. We love you both so much. May God bless all the days of your lives together.”
Millions of Americans will certainly be able to relate to the immense grief that Cameron Bure feels over Kirk’s assassination. We applaud her for managing to navigate these emotions enough to still be able to enjoy her daughter’s wedding.
In the end, Cameron Bure’s openness about the difficulty of this situation only makes us love her even more. God bless you, Candace Cameron Bure!
