Candace Cameron Bure of Full House and Fuller House fame has long been one of the only openly devout Christian stars in Hollywood. In a new interview, she’s speaking out to defy the secular world of Hollywood by revealing how her faith is the “guiding light” in her life in a variety of ways.

Cameron Bure Sounds Off

Cameron Bure, 49, just returned to America from a trip to the Dominican Republic. There, she teamed up with Free Wheelchair Mission to help give mobility to those in need.

Now that she’s back from this trip, Cameron Bure is opening up about how her “Christian calling” helps inspire her to give back to those who are less fortunate than she is.

“You know, the Bible tells us to help the least of these, to help The Widows and The Orphans. I mean, that’s a calling for every one of us,” Cameron Bure told Fox News. “And so, of course, my faith guides me in my choices that I make.”

“I couldn’t live out my Christian calling without helping those in need,” she continued. “And I mean, I guess that’s the guiding light for me. But truly, when you’re involved in it, you end up becoming the receiver because you really… It just, it feels so good to give and participate in helping change someone’s life or adding to it, giving them hope, watching their resilience. To let them know that they are loved, and they’re cared for. And they are worthy of being here and being loved by people and especially by God.

Cameron Bure’s Dominican Republic Trip

Cameron Bure spent four days in the Dominican Republic working with the Free Wheelchair Mission handing out wheelchairs to those who need them.

“You’re going into more remote places where people don’t have access,” she recounted of this experience. “They don’t have running water or necessarily power. And to think of living in those types of conditions and then being disabled, not being able to move yourself, having to be carried or crawl on the ground or living in isolation because you don’t have… mobility. It was really eye-opening for me.”

“It really changes who you are, the joy that you are able to give to someone and to see this need fulfilled,” Cameron Bure added. “It’s the biggest gift that I could personally receive, and it’s not about me. You’re there to give, and yet I’m the one that’s – I feel like I’m walking away with even more.”

God ‘Always Shows Up’ For Cameron Bure

Cameron Bure has never been afraid to speak out about her strong Christian faith. She previously discussed how God has always shown up for her in her “scariest moments.”

“I am always amazed because He always shows up, and it’s sometimes in unexpected ways,” Cameron Bure admitted. “Sometimes it’s the way I want Him to show up, and sometimes it’s the way I was hoping He wouldn’t show up, but He did.”

“But what I’ve learned over the years in knowing Him and knowing His character is that He’s always there, literally always there,” she concluded. “So, sometimes, in the scariest moments, when I’m like, ‘God, I need you with me. I need to feel your presence. Bring me through this.’ And sometimes you want the win at the end. He brings you through, and you’re like, ‘Yes, I did it.’”

In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find a celebrity that is brave enough to be as open about their Christian faith as Cameron Bure is. Bless her for continuing to use her platform to spread the word of God.
