Earlier this week, we reported that the former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure had kicked off the week-long “America Reads the Bible” event. This event involves political leaders, pastors, and entertainers joining together to read the entire Bible aloud. It started over the weekend, and it’s set to last seven days.
In a new interview, Cameron Bure is gushing over just how much this massive biblical event is bringing Americans together. Indeed, this is a time when the American people need unity more than ever. Thankfully, “America Reads the Bible” is bringing us all together!
‘Such An Exciting Time…’
“It is such an exciting time in history,” Cameron Bure, 50, told Fox News. “Never has this been done, to read the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in such a public platform, to join all Americans together. You said it, from entertainers to government officials, to pastors, to moms and dads, to educators, nurses. It’s American people reminding ourselves of who God is in our life.”
Cameron Bure went on to say that it felt “honoring” to read the “holy words” of God. She also explained that the event is not about a bunch of perfect people coming together to read Scripture. Instead, it’s actually about the opposite, according to the former Fuller House star.
“We’re a bunch of imperfect people reminding ourselves that we need to be humble, and God is a God above all else,” Cameron Bure explained.
‘God Gives Us That Peace’
Cameron Bure then said that Generation Z is “going back to the basics” and questioning where they can find true peace and joy. This is bringing many of them to Christ.
“God gives us that peace overall when we follow His ways,” Cameron Bure stated. “And so, more young people are realizing that. They are having encounters with God, and it is so exciting to see.”
Cameron Bure ended her interview by reminding believers that God is a “patient” God. Indeed, she pointed out that he waits for His children with open arms.
“When you read the Bible in chronological order, it is the greatest love story you’ll ever read in a book because He is so patient throughout the ages, throughout the years, and He’s still patient with each and every one of us today, just waiting with open arms,” Cameron Bure concluded. “So, He calls every one of us and all you have to do is call back to His name, and He’s there.”
Donald Trump Reads From The Bible
This comes after President Donald Trump took part in “America Reads the Bible” on Tuesday night. In a video recorded in the Oval Office, Trump read a passage from the seventh chapter of 2 Chronicles, a book in the Hebrew (Old Testament) portion of the Bible.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land,” a portion of Trump’s passage read.
Trump told The Associated Press that the Bible is “indelibly woven into our national identity and way of life.” Check out his reading of the Bible in the video below.
In a time when Americans seem more divided than ever, it’s incredibly touching to see a biblical event bringing us all together. God bless both Cameron Bure and Trump for taking part in this incredible holy event!
