Yesterday, we reported that the singer Britney Spears had been accused of “barking” and “carrying a knife” at a restaurant in Los Angeles, California. This came days after she plead guilty to DUI. It also came after she left a rehab facility in Maine.

Now, Spears is firing back through her representative to address the latest claims being made against her.

Spears’ Rep Defends Her

Multiple witnesses claimed to TMZ that they saw Spears, 44, exhibiting “erratic” behavior at the Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday night. They alleged that she was raising her voice, “screaming,” and even “barking” at times. At one point, Spears was reportedly seen walking around the restaurant carrying a knife. This led patrons to fear that she might stab someone.

Spears rep, however, is claiming that reports of Spears’ behavior at the restaurant have been “completely blown out of proportion.”

“Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” the rep told People Magazine. “She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half.”

“This constant attack on everything that she does, and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person,” Spears’ rep continued. “This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.”

Late Wednesday night, the entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider took to social media to claim that he had witnessed Spears at the restaurant. Indeed, he described it as being a “WILD experience.”

“She just left and everyone in the restaurant turned and started talking about it. An INSANE dining experience,” Sneider wrote. “”One diner feared for her life. This is not a joke…”

Spears On ‘Spiritual Journey’

This came days after Spears took to Instagram on Saturday to post a photo of herself holding a baby snake. In the caption, she opened up about being on a “spiritual journey.”

“Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what what a beautiful baby snake this is,” Spears wrote. “Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck.”

“I’m so [expletive] thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise,” she continued. “I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never ending journey and sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God I think that was you and smile on!!!!”

Spears’ DUI Arrest

Spears was arrested in California on Wednesday, March 4. She was then booked for allegedly driving under the influence. Records obtained by Fox News show that Spears was released the next morning at 6:07 a.m.

Spears was later officially charged with DUI on Thursday, April 30. In the filing, the Ventura County District Attorney said that Spears committed the alleged misdemeanor “unlawfully, while under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug, drive a vehicle.”

Spears did not appear at the Ventura Superior Court for her sentencing on Monday, May 4. Instead, she was represented by her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein.

“Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,” Goldstein said after the hearing. “She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI.”

“Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received,” he added.

Spears was sentenced to 12 months of probation and one day in jail, which was credited as time served. She was also fined $571.00. On top of that, Spears must attend a three-month DUI program, see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. Her vehicle has additionally been authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol.

Spears’ rep can defend her all that they want to, but it’s clear that she’s going through a difficult time in her life. Here’s hoping that Spears gets the help she needs so that she can turn her life around.
