Last month, we reported that rumors were swirling that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were divorcing. Now, Shelton is speaking out to slam the concept of Dry January as these rumors continue to spread.
Shelton Rips Dry January
Last Thursday, Shelton reprised his Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. The crowd went wild when Shelton came on stage to “Pour Me Drink,” his song with Post Malone. This song won the two of them the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year.
As Shelton raised a dark cup that was seemingly full of alcohol, he aired his opinions on Dry January. This concept sees people abstain from alcohol for the entire month of January.
“I hope you guys aren’t doing that no drink January or whatever the hell that s— is, man. It’s stupid. This is country music, okay?” Shelton, 49, told the crowd. “Take the night off if you are.”
Shelton performed six shows in Las Vegas last year. His run this year in Sin City will be longer, as he has dates that extend all through January.
Shelton’s 90 minute set this year includes new material like “Stay Country or Die Tryin’,” his newest No. 1 single, which topped the charts earlier in the week.
“This is the only time during this residency that I’ll be able to say this, but this week, today, we are celebrating my 31st No. 1 song that we just had this year,” Shelton said before performing the song. “It’s right now. It’s freaking me out. That’s why I’m saying you guys aren’t doing the no-drink January thing, because I’m celebrating. This is my one chance to celebrate this thing.”
At one point in the show, Shelton duetted “Nobody But You” with his wife Stefani, 56. Indeed, she harmonized with him in a prerecorded video on the oversized screen behind him. Check out that touching moment for yourself below.
Shelton And Stefani’s Divorce Rumors
This comes amidst rampant rumors that Shelton and Stefani are headed for divorce. They were rarely seen together in 2025, leading to this speculation to mount. Last week, insiders claimed that Shelton and Stefani are undergoing a “reset” in 2026 in the hopes of saving their marriage.
“They’ve taken stock of what went wrong this past year,” a source told Star Magazine. “And realized they can’t coast anymore if they want this thing to last.”
Shelton and Stefani haven’t been seen on a red carpet together since March of 2025. They were noticeably absent from the CMA Awards in November, even though Shelton was a nominee.
“They admit they really drifted and became disconnected,” the insider added.
Moving forward, Shelton and Stefani have a five-point plan to save their marriage.
“They’ve committed to spending more time in the same zip code,” the source explained. “They’re also being more intentional about work and social commitments so they’re not pulled in opposite directions. Plus, Blake has promised to meet Gwen halfway on things that matter to her, like going to church. He’s also promised to get fit and cut back on crappy food.”
“They’re prioritizing their relationship with date nights and plans for a romantic getaway,” the insider concluded. “It’s a very deliberate reset, which hopefully will get them back on track.”
Shelton Denies He’s Divorcing Stefani
Earlier this month, Shelton hosted Country Countdown USA. There, he attempted to clear up rumors that he and Stefani, 56, are splitting.
“I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton said. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store … ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’”
“And another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store … ‘They’re divorcing,’” he continued. “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’”
Shelton went on to say that he doesn’t “believe anything anymore that I see on the internet.” Check out Shelton and Stefani ringing in the new year together below.
Shelton And Stefani’s History
Shelton and Stefani first met back in 2014 when they were each coaches on The Voice. At the time, they were each married to other people. She was married to the singer Gavin Rossdale, while he was married to his fellow country music star Miranda Lambert.
By July of 2015, both Shelton and Stefani had divorced their respective spouses. They began dating that year, and they later married in 2021.
Stefani has also attempted to shut down the divorce rumors. Watch her do that last month in the video below.
Shelton and Stefani are one of the most beloved couples in the entire entertainment world. Millions of fans are rooting for them, as we’d all like to see them stay together.
The remaining dates for Shelton’s Las Vegas residency are January 18, 21, 23, 24, 28, 30 and 31. As he continues to perform, here’s hoping that he can save his marriage with Stefani!
