Beyoncé was left humiliated this week when the country music star Gavin Adcock publicly slammed her country album “Cowboy Carter.”

Adcock Blasts Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Album

During a recent concert, Adcock brought up the Apple Music country album chart rankings. There, Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” is currently number 3, while Adcock’s “Own Worst Enemy” album sits at number 4.

Let’s just say that being behind Beyoncé on a country chart doesn’t sit well with Adcock.

“One of them’s Beyoncé,” Adcock, 26, told the crowd while holding a bottle of Jack Daniels. “You can tell her we’re coming for her [expletive]’in’ [expletive]!”

“That [expletive] ain’t country music, and it ain’t ever been country music,” he added.

Adcock Doubles Down

Adcock later doubled down on this in a video posted to his own social media pages. He captioned this video, “It ain’t country.”

“I’m going to go ahead and clear this up,” Adcock said in the video. “When I was a little kid, my mama was blasting some Beyoncé in the car. I’ve heard a ton of Beyoncé songs and I actually remember her Super Bowl Halftime Show being pretty kick-[expletive] back in the day.”

“But I really don’t believe her album should be labeled as country music,” he continued. “It doesn’t sound country, it doesn’t feel country… I just don’t think that people that have dedicated their whole lives to this genre and this lifestyle should have to compete or watch that album just stay at the top just because she’s Beyoncé.”

Beyoncé Wins Best Country Album Grammy

This comes months after Beyoncé, 43, won the Best Country Album Grammy Award for “Cowboy Carter.” She also won Album of the Year.

“I was not expecting this, I want to thank God – oh my God – that I’m able to still do what I still love after so many years,” Beyoncé said while accepting the best country album Grammy. “I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists and I just want to encourage people to do what their passionate about. Stay persistent.”

In March of last year, Beyoncé hinted on Instagram that she “did not feel welcomed” in the country music genre years ago.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” she wrote of “Cowboy Carter.” “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t.”

“But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive,” Beyoncé added. “It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

Beyoncé Struggles To Sell Cowboy Carter Tour Tickets

Unfortunately for Beyoncé, many fans simply haven’t connected to her “Cowboy Carter” album. Indeed, she has struggled to sell tickets to her Cowboy Carter tour over the past few months.

“While I’m a Beyoncé fan, I personally don’t enjoy ‘Cowboy Carter’ as much as her other albums,” one fan recently told The London Times. “So I just decided not to get a ticket.”

“Nobody cares about cowgirl version of Beyoncé,” a social media user boldly declared. Another wrote, “This country album should’ve been a donation based concert.”

Needless to say, this has all been very humiliating for Beyoncé. Back in April, when her Cowboy Carter tickets were slashed to prices as low as $20, a social media post went viral comparing this to the price of limited edition Minecraft Movie Big Mac Meals from McDonald’s. These meals are being sold for around the same price.

“Due to its low demand, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald’s Minecraft meal ($21.39),” the viral post read.

It doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that, folks!

Beyoncé’s loyal fans will undoubtedly be livid at Adcock for his comments. Judging by Beyoncé’s struggles to sell Cowboy Carter tour tickets, however, many will also agree with Adock’s remarks.

Only time will tell if Beyoncé decides to continue pursuing country music in the future!
