Over the past few months, we’ve been reporting that the singer Beyoncé has been struggling to sell tickets to her Cowboy Carter tour. Last week, we reported that Beyoncé was particularly struggling to sell tickets for the six Cowboy Carter shows that she was scheduled to perform in London this month.
Now, it appears that the pressure of this situation has finally gotten to Beyoncé. Indeed, during her final Cowboy Carter show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Monday night, Beyoncé couldn’t help but break down in tears.
Beyoncé Gets Emotional In London
“London, I’m so happy to be standing on the stage tonight. I see so many familiar faces,” Beyoncé, 43, said as she opened her show at 7:43pm local time. “We’re going to have us a good time. I love you, I love you. I love you so deep.”
While she started off the concert on a positive note, Beyoncé became increasingly emotional as the show went on. She finally broke down in tears just before she was set to sing her 2008 hit “If I Were a Boy.”
“I don’t want to go home,” Beyoncé exclaimed through her tears. “Thank you, London. We’ve been having such great shows here. Thank y’all so much.”

Beyoncé Struggles To Sell London Tickets
Beyoncé was clearly trying to put on a brave face for this concert. However, it marked the end of a difficult string of performances in London.
Much to Beyoncé’s humiliation, she failed to sell out any of her six London shows that ran from June 5 until June 16.
When tickets for the London shows went on sale in February, they cost a whopping $1,290. However, prices were later slashed to $842 in the presale. When they still failed to sell, they were slashed again to $192.
This did little to help the situation. Indeed, hours before Beyoncé’s first London show, there were still 539 free seats in the stadium.

Branding Expert Weighs In
Personal branding expert Kelly Lundberg weighed in to reveal why she thinks Beyoncé had so much trouble selling tickets to her London shows. She believes that Beyoncé’s middle-aged fans were particularly turned off by the high ticket prices.
“Research shows tickets come with a hefty fee, more expensive than her last tour just two years ago, as well as Taylor Swifts’s gigs and Oasis’s concert,” Lundberg told Daily Mail.
“When you have longevity in a career, like Beyoncé does, your fans grow with you,” she explained. “But that means many die-hard Beyoncé fans are juggling mortgages, children and careers. Attending a high-priced show may not be a priority as it once was?”
Then there’s the fact that many fans have struggled to connect with Beyoncé’s foray into country music.
“While I’m a Beyoncé fan, I personally don’t enjoy Cowboy Carter as much as her other albums,” one fan told The London Times. “So I just decided not to get a ticket.”
“Nobody cares about cowgirl version of Beyoncé,” a social media user boldly declared. Another wrote, “This country album should’ve been a donation based concert.”
Beyoncé will now head to Paris, France. There, she is scheduled to perform three concerts on June 19, 21, and 22. Only time will tell if Beyoncé is able to find any more success there than she did in London.
In the end, it seems that Beyoncé is definitely feeling the pressure when it comes to selling her Cowboy Carter tickets. Perhaps she should go back to her R&B and pop roots, because it seems that her fans are far more interested in that than they are in her country music efforts!
