Rumors have been swirling for months that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce. Indeed, it’s been claimed that the two of them have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.
Barack And Michelle Reemerge Together
Over the weekend, Barack and Michelle appeared to attempt to make a major statement about these rumors when they were seen together in public for the first time in five months.
Barack and Michelle were spotted together at the ritzy Italian restaurant Osteria Mozza in Washington D.C. A main course at this popular Georgetown establishment costs between $34 and $175. The Obamas made a point of stopping to wave to patrons as they seemingly tried to make it appear as if they were enjoying a date night.
Barack flashed a smile and waved at customers. This made it look as if he wanted to ensure that as many people as possible saw him and his wife on their night out. Meanwhile, Michelle walked ahead of him with her head bowed slightly, not acknowledging their fellow patrons as her husband did.
The Washington D.C. crowd reacted by being in awe of the Obamas. One patron could even be heard saying “oh my God” as others cheered.
Check out video of the Obamas making their exit from the restaurant below. It certainly seems like their intention was to be seen together, as they undoubtedly could have quietly left through a back exit, which they typically would have done.

Obama Divorce Rumors
This was the first time that Barack and Michelle were seen publicly together since December.
The next month, the Obama divorce rumors escalated big time when Michelle skipped both the funeral of Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of Donald Trump. This forced Barack to attend both of these events alone. Michelle was the only first lady to not attend these events, raising eyebrows about the state of her marriage.
Last month, Barack admitted that he is in a “deep deficit” with his wife and has been trying to “dig his way out by doing fun things.” Around that same time, Michelle launched a new podcast “IMO” with her older brother Craig Robinson. She has since used that podcast to bash both Barack and their marriage seemingly every chance she gets.
“I tell people – and folks think this is harsh – it’s, like ‘You’re gonna have a bad decade,'” Michelle said during last week’s episode. “I mean, I’ve been married to my husband for 30-plus years… If the odds were you’re going to be married to your partner for 50 years and 10 of those years could be bad, you’d sign up for it. You know, and that’s really hot it works out.”
This didn’t sit well with the conservative commentator Megyn Kelly, who was quick to shoot this notion down.
“Is it Michelle? It’s not,” Megyn said in response.
Not stopping there, Megyn ripped into Barack and Michelle’s marriage.
“I think she and he married the wrong people,” Megyn said of the Obamas on the latest episode of The Megyn Kelly Show.

Obamas Rumored To Be Living ‘Separate Lives’
Meghan McCain weighed in on the Obama divorce rumors back in January.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” McCain said on reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast in January. “I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.”
“I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true,” she added.
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

The Obamas have been married since 1992, and they have two adult children together. Though they have tried to shoot down their divorce rumors, the claims only seem to be gaining traction. Only time will tell if Barack and Michelle actually do end up staying together!
