Angelina Jolie has become the latest Hollywood star to express her desire to flee Los Angeles.

Jolie Desperate To Get Out Of L. A.

Jolie, 49, told The Hollywood Reporter that though she “grew up” in L.A. as the daughter of actors Jon Voight and the late Marcheline Bertrand, she would like to leave the California city. She explained that she is only still living there “because I have to be here from a divorce” from the Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

“But as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” Jolie said, referring to her and Pitt’s 16 year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, the youngest of their six children.

Jolie went on to say that she wants to flee L.A. to get more privacy for her family, which also includes her four older kids: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18.

“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” she explained. “I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”

As for where she’ll go when she leaves L.A., Jolie said, “I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia,” which is where she adopted her son Maddox from in 2002.

“I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world,” she added.

Jolie and Pitt have been embroiled in a nasty divorce battle ever since she filed in 2016. She left Pitt after they allegedly got into a physical altercation on a private plane. While they were each declared legally single in 2019, their divorce battle has continued in court. In the years since then, they’ve been fighting over custody of their six children.

Pitt Wants To Resolve Divorce

A source close to Pitt told People Magazine earlier this week that it’s “pretty shocking” that he and Jolie still “can’t find a resolution and finalize the divorce.”

“A major reason for their unhappiness before Angelina filed for divorce was their frequent clashes over parenting their kids,” the source said. The insider added that the former couple “always had different approaches to life just in general,” since Pitt didn’t grow up in Hollywood but Jolie did.

In June of 2020, Jolie claimed that she left Pitt for the “well-being” of her children.

“I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision,” Jolie said at the time. “I continue to focus on their healing.”

Jolie Refuses To Discuss Divorce

In her latest interview, Jolie was asked, “May I ask what the status of your divorce is?” Jolie responded simply, “No.”

Jolie reportedly drew “firm boundaries.” She told her interviewer that years ago in Hollywood “you could have this messy private process and the work spoke. Now, the audience’s relationship is different. I’m trying to get used to what to share.”

Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. Here’s hoping that Jolie and Pitt settle this divorce soon so that she can leave Los Angeles as she wishes to!
