Yesterday, we reported that the American Pickers star Frank Fritz died on Monday at the age of 60. This came two years after he suffered from a devastating stroke. Now, it’s been revealed that Fritz’s American Pickers co-star Mike Wolfe, 60, was by his side when he died.

Fritz And Wolfe’s History

Fritz and Wolfe had known each other for over forty years, and they spent ten years starring together on American Pickers. Sadly, they ultimately had a falling out. When Fritz left American Pickers in 2021 to focus on his health, he told The Sun that he hadn’t talked to Wolfe in two years.

“I haven’t talked to Mike in two years,” Fritz said at the time. “He knew my back was messed up, but he didn’t call me up and ask how I was doing. That’s just how it is. The show is tilted towards him [Wolfe] 1,000%. I can’t even bend that far down to show you how much.

“I think Mike wants to get his brother, Robbie, in there to replace me,” he continued. “I don’t know why he’s behaving like that towards me. You couldn’t just stick two people in a van and get the chemistry you get from me and Mike. We’ve known each other for about 40 years. We can finish each other’s sentences. When everybody is getting along and there’s no drama, me and him are very good together.”

Thankfully, the former friends reconciled after Fritz suffered from his stroke in 2022. Indeed, they reportedly made peace with one another last year.

Fritz And Wolfe Reconcile

“Mike has been wanting to see Frank for quite some time,” an unnamed friend told the Quad-City Times in 2023. “Frank just now felt up to seeing him. It was Frank’s request to see Mike.”

“They were both in tears. Both were crying,” the friend continued. “Mike brought up how nervous they both were to be going on David Letterman, which was one of their first big appearances. … They talked about old times, how things got started and the impact they had on the world. There were tears flowing on both sides.”

“They were not feuding,” the friend explained. “They needed separation to appreciate each other.”

Wolfe Was With Fritz When He Died

Sources told TMZ that Wolfe was by Fritz’s side when he died on Monday. Afterwards, Wolfe took to Instagram to pay tribute to his good friend.

“It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” Wolfe wrote. “I’ve know Frank for more then half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.”

“Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures,” he continued. “Before the show we would take off together to places we never knew existed with no destination in mind and just the shared passion to discover something interesting and historic.”

Wolfe ended his post by saying his final goodbye to his buddy Fritz.

“We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home,” Wolfe concluded. “I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place.”

We’re so glad to see that Wolfe and Fritz reconciled before the latter passed away. Please join us in saying a prayer for Wolfe and Fritz’s other loved ones during this difficult time.
