The controversial Hollywood star Alec Baldwin crashed his car into a tree in the Hamptons in New York on Monday afternoon. His brother Stephen, who is the father of Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey, was with him at the time of the crash.
Alec Crashes Car Into Tree
Page Six has obtained photos in which Alec’s white Range Rover appears to have significant damage after crashing into the large tree. Alec, 67, was seen speaking to a police officer at the scene after the crash. Indeed, he did not appear to be injured.
Alec looked somber as he stood by his crashed vehicle while wearing a gray polo shirt and pants. He was seen sticking his hands in his pocket nervously as he made a call on his cellphone.
Alec had been in the Hamptons for the Hamptons International Film Festival. This event started on October 5 and ended on Sunday, October 13. Alec is a co-chair on the Board Executive Committee.
“He has been out there all week, he attended films and moderated panels,” an insider claimed.
Alec’s Bizarre Claim About Car Crash
Hours later, Alec took to Instagram to make a truly bizarre claim about this crash. In his video, he revealed that the Range Rover actually belongs to his wife Hilaria, 41, with whom he shares seven of his eight children.
“This morning I was in this car accident. Guy cut me off [in front of a] big garbage truck the size of a whale,” Alec began. “To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree.”
Alec went on to say that his brother Stephen, 59, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. He added that Stephen had been staying with him, and that they spent the weekend together on Long Island.
“It crushed my car, my wife’s car. I feel bad about that,” Alec admitted. “It’s all fine. I’m fine and my brother’s fine.”
Alec concluded by thanking the East Hampton Police Department for arriving so quickly to help.
The car crash occurred during a a powerful Nor’easter that put millions of Americans in New Jersey and New York under a state of emergency. Indeed, Long Island was hit with such major rainfall that flooding occurred in many areas.
Hilaria Breaks Her Silence
Hilaria, who became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing With The Stars season 34 last week, also took to Instagram. There, she let fans know that her husband and brother-in-law were not injured in the crash.
“Thank you for caring,” Hilaria said as she sat in another vehicle with a smile on her face.
Meanwhile, after Hilaria’s Dancing With The Stars elimination, Alec spoke out to send his support to her.
“I want to say I love you, Hilaria, and I’m proud of you,” Alec said in another Instagram video. “It’s been wonderful for the family to be able to support you as you support us every day. This has been such a large part of your life, and this is a dream come true for you.”
“So congratulations and never stop dancing,” he added. “Never stop dancing, Hilaria. I love you so.”
Alec and Hilaria have been married since 2012, and they have seven children together. Alec was previously married to the Oscar-winning star Kim Basinger, 71, from 1993 until 2002. They share a daughter Ireland, 29.
Between that elimination and yesterday’s car crash, it seems that this has not been an easy month for the Baldwins. Only time will tell if more details about this crash ever come to light!
