The country music star Jason Aldean is speaking out this week to reveal what would ever make him retire from performing.

Aldean Sounds Off

Aldean, 47, told Taste of Country that there are still many things that he wants to accomplish in the music world.

“There’s still a lot of things that I want to accomplish,” he said. “You know, I feel like I’ve been able to accomplish a lot of the things that I set out to do, originally, and more.”

Aldean went on to say that he’s done things in his career that he “never dreamed” that he would do after he started performing music at clubs at just 14 years of age.

“For 30 years, I’ve been doing this, and I’ve spent most of my life trying to chase the music dream and then you kind of get there, and then it’s like, ‘All right, now you’re in it, what’s next?'” he added.

Aldean Talks Retirement

When asked directly if he could ever see himself retiring, Aldean got contemplative with his answer.

“I dunno, I feel like if you’re a musician, I feel like this is a job that it’s hard to retire from,” he said. “It’s kind of a lifer gig, you know, I may not tour as much as I tour now, but I feel like I will probably always play in some capacity.”

Aldean then hinted that the only thing that could make him consider retirement was if he got the sense that fans didn’t want to see him perform anymore. Given how popular he is at the moment, however, there doesn’t seem to be much of a danger of that happening!

“I mean look at like people like the Stones — not that they’re 90, they’re up there, and they’re still going out playing stadiums,” Aldean concluded. ‘I just feel like this is one of those gigs that if you’re in it, you’re kind of a lifer.”

Aldean’s Tour – Love For America

Aldean is currently on his High Desperado tour, which is set to run across the country through September. His next stop is set to be in Rome, Georgia, where he will be performing at Kingston Downs on Saturday night. Last weekend, Aldean performed at the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, Texas, bringing the house down there just as he typically does.

Aldean has long differentiated himself from other modern musicians by professing his love for both America and family values.

“What I am is a proud American,” he said last summer, according to Fox News. “I’m proud to be from here. I love our country.”

“I love my country, I love my family, and I will do anything to protect that – I can tell you that right now,” he added.

Given everything that is happening in America today, voices like Aldean’s are needed now more than ever. That’s why it’s such a relief to see that he has no intention of retiring anytime soon!
