One month after her 91st birthday, Carol Burnett is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gracie Awards next Tuesday.

Burnett To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Billboard reported that Burnett will be given this award by her Palm Royale co-star Kirsten Wiig. The Gracie Awards are set to take place on May 21 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The Gracie Awards are named after the late great comedienne Gracie Allen. She starred in The George Burns And Gracie Allen Show with her beloved husband George Burns in the 1950s.

Tuesday’s show will be hosted by Tamera Mowry-Housley of Sister Sister fame. Other attendees include Maria Shriver, Mary McDonnell, and Phylicia Rashad.

Additionally, The Gracie Awards honors “programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.”

Given how much content Burnett has created as a woman over the years, she’s the perfect person to receive this lifetime achievement award.

Becky Brooks, the president of the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, praised Burnett as “a true icon of television and entertainment, whose impact spans decades and resonates with audiences of all ages.”

Earlier this week, Burnett had a hilarious response when asked what her proudest accomplishment is in life.

“Living this long,” she told Entertainment Tonight with a laugh.

Burnett And Wiig

Burnett was glad to find out that her Palm Royale co-star Wiig will be presenting her with the award.

“She is a doll and I was so happy to be able to work with her and now I have a new girlfriend,” Burnett gushed.

Meanwhile, Wiig, who rose to fame on Saturday Night Live!, praised Burnett earlier this year.

“For me, just with sketch comedy and everything she did for every person, every woman, she’s such an inspiration,” Wiig said of Burnett at the March premiere for Palm Royale.

“I mean, she’s just a dream,” she added.

Comparatively, Burnett showed that she’s just as humble as ever when she responded by saying, “Oh stop!”

“Maybe it’s a spoiler, but I have so many wonderful scenes with this one and I have been a fan of yours,” she said of Wiig.

Burnett Eager To Keep Working

Though she is in her 90s, Burnett has no intention of slowing down. In fact, she’s pushing for Apple TV+ will renew Palm Royale for a second season.

“That’ll keep me working, which I like,” she told People Magazine back in March. “Yes, as long as I have fun, and that’s what I want.”

Burnett’s Career

Undeniably, Burnett is best known for her eponymous sketch comedy show The Carol Burnett Show. The program ran from 1967 until 1978 and cemented Burnett as the comedic legend that she remains today.

Before her 91st birthday on April 26, Burnett reflected on her decades of success.

“I got a little angel here somewhere,” Burnett admitted while appearing on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast.

Burnett may consider herself lucky, but we are the real lucky ones to have someone as talented as her in the world. God bless the Gracie Awards for choosing to honor this incredible woman!
