The legendary star Carol Burnett is set to turn 91 tomorrow, and we previously reported that she had asked that the Hollywood leading man Bradley Cooper be her birthday present. Now, Cooper has responded by sending Burnett a very special birthday message.

Cooper Surprises Burnett

While appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday night, Burnett was asked about her viral “Live with Kelly and Mark” appearance last month in which she jokingly said that the one thing left on her bucket list before turning 91 was to “do” Cooper.

“Well, you know, my birthday is Friday,” Burnett teased host Jimmy Kimmel.

“We did reach out to Bradley and, well, he sent this,” Kimmel replied as he set up a clip for a visibly stunned Burnett.

“Hello, Carol Burnett, it’s Bradley Cooper,” Cooper said in the video. “I just wanted to wish you a very happy 91st birthday. I’ve been such a massive fan of yours ever since I was a kid, watched your show religiously, and it’s a thrill to leave you this message.”

“I hope to meet you one day and maybe even work together,” he continued. “I hope you have a great day, see ya.”

Burnett was clearly overjoyed by this message.

“Oh, that is hysterical. I love that,” she said in response. “What a great birthday present, thank you. So adorable.”

Backstory: Carol Burnett Wants Bradley Cooper To Be Her 91st Birthday Present

Burnett’s Birthday

Last month, Burnett told Entertainment Tonight that if Apple TV+ renews her show “Palm Royale” for a second season, she is hoping to have a romantic storyline for Cooper.

“And then for my character,” added Burnett, “I’d like to be with Bradley Cooper, but I don’t know if that would work out.”

Burnett celebrated her 90th birthday last year with a televised special that was titled “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love.”

“It was wonderful and embarrassing at the same time,” Burnett said afterwards. “It was so sweet and loving and I had so many good friends there and I was so touched by everything they said.”

“I didn’t want a birthday bash with a cake and confetti and all that and I didn’t want a roast. What I wanted was a variety show,” she added. “I wanted a show with live entertainment, music, comedy, we would show funny clips.”

Burnett Happy To Still Be Working

When asked about her birthday last month, Burnett replied by saying that she’s just happy to still be working.

“Well, I hope there’s a second season, you know, then that’ll keep me working, which I like,” Burnett told People Magazine. “Yes, as long as I have fun, and that’s what I want.”

“I always approach it as something new that I’ve never done before, so I’m just happy to be working and that I’ve got all my parts,” she added. “I have my hips and my knees — and I think my brain — so as long as I can keep that up and work, then I want to work.”

Burnett is a true legend, and there will never be another one like her. Please join us in wishing her a very happy birthday, and many more to come!
