Morgan Wallen Breaks His Silence After Being Arrested – Honors Police Officers

Earlier this month, we reported that the country music star Morgan Wallen had been arrested in Nashville, Tennessee for throwing a chair off of a rooftop bar. Now, Wallen has broken his silence for the first time since this incident.

Wallen Breaks His Silence

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” Wallen, 30, wrote on social media. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s.”

“I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he continued. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”

“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” Wallen later added. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”

Wallen Arrested

Entertainment Weekly reported that Wallen was arrested on April 7 and charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct after he threw a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s six-story Chief’s Bar in Nashville, with it landing near two police officers.

Wallen is set to return to court on May 3, and his attorney told US Weekly that Wallen is “cooperating fully” with local authorities. He is facing up to six years in prison if he is convicted on all charges.

“Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn’t know when to stop,” a source told People Magazine. “Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it’s been a problem that keeps coming back around.”

This isn’t the first time that Wallen has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2020, he was arrested on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges, and he spent thirty days in treatment the next year after he was caught on camera saying the n-word following a drunken night out with friends.

“I’ve not ever been the one to follow the rules as much as some people,” Wallen said that year, explaining that he traces his rebelliousness back to being the son of a preacher growing up in Sneedville, Tennessee, where “everybody pretty much knows what you do. They expect you to behave a certain way, and if you don’t, they scold you. I absolutely hated that growing up, and I think a lot of my tendencies come from that.”

Wallen’s Sentence

Nashville-based criminal defense attorney and legal expert David Raybin told People Magazine that while Wallen is facing six years in prison, the chances of him actually getting that much time are “very remote.”

“I seriously doubt how he would get consecutive time,” Raybin said. “It’s based on prior record and extreme dangerousness of the offense: professional, criminal, sex offense. It’s a pretty limited category. Generally speaking, this would not be consecutive.”

“[Wallen’s] is a serious offense — I don’t want to minimize it, but still, he probably would not be eligible for consecutive sentences,” he continued. “It’s probably a maximum of two years assuming he was not put on probation.”

It can only be hoped that this is the wakeup call that Wallen needs to turn his life around. We will update you further as his next court date approaches.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
