Gwen Stefani Addresses Rumors She’s Divorcing Blake Shelton – ‘The Truth Is…’

Over the past few months, rumors have swirled that the singers Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, who have been together since 2015 and married since 2021, are preparing to divorce. In a new interview, Stefani is finally addressing these rumors while giving fans an update on how her marriage to the country music star Shelton is really going.

Stefani Sounds Off On Marriage

Stefani, 54, told NYLON that while she loves Shelton, she’s felt vulnerable in their marriage at times, a feeling that led her to write the duet “Purple Irises” with him.

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’” she confessed.

“In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen,” she continued. “I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

Stefani Addresses Divorce Rumors

Stefani went on to address the divorce rumors by revealing what’s really going on in her marriage these days.

“The truth is I am in love with my best friend. And all this s–t I’m thinking of in my brain, that’s all it is — I’m overthinking,” she explained. “But when you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us.”

“You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something,” Stefani added. “It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is.”

Stefani And Shelton’s History

The New York Post reported that Stefani and Shelton, now 47, met back in 2014 when they were both coaches on the NBC reality competition show “The Voice.” At the time, they were each married to other singers, with her being married to Gavin Rossdale and him being married to Miranda Lambert.

Each of those marriages appear to have already been on the rocks, however, with Shelton ending his in 2015 and Stefani ending hers in 2016. Stefani and Shelton immediately began dating from there, and they quickly fell in love.

“When I [started dating] Blake, that’s when I felt home, like, ‘Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy,’” Stefani told People Magazine last year. “[I] didn’t see [Shelton] coming. This was just a big old ‘What?’ It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time.”

Stefani Feels Closer To God In Oklahoma

The couple now split their time between Los Angeles, where Stefani was born and raised, and Shelton’s home state of Oklahoma, where they enjoy being far away from the pressures of Hollywood.

“I am not really a dirt person, a bug person, I don’t like that much humidity,” Stefani admitted. “But it’s so beautiful [in Oklahoma], and you kind of feel like you’re going into this vortex. Nature — and God — is all right there.”

Shelton and Stefani have always had such good chemistry that they have countless fans who have been rooting for their love from the very beginning. These fans will certainly be relieved to hear that it does not sound like their marriage will be ending anytime soon!
