Candace Cameron Bure Reveals She ‘Almost Died’ On ‘Fuller House’ Set In Terrifying Incident

Candace Cameron Bure, who has long been one of the only openly Christian stars in Hollywood, shocked her fans this week by revealing that she “almost died” on the set of her show “Fuller House” in an incident that was nothing short of terrifying.

Cameron Bure’s Near-Death Experience

While appearing on her “Fuller House” costars’ Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber’s “How Rude, Tanneritos!” podcast, Cameron Bure recounted an incident in which she “almost died” rehearsing a stunt on the set of the Netflix reboot of their sitcom “Full House.”

Fox News reported that the stunt involved Cameron Bure’s character of D.J. Tanner gearing up to do an “American Ninja Warrior”-like course in her living room, and it featured a zipline that was not set up correctly.

“During rehearsal, the rig was not set up correctly and there was no safety stop on the end of it,” recalled Cameron Bure, 48. “So, when I landed off the zipline and stopped, the whole mechanism – which is all metal and very, very heavy – slid right off the track and came right next to my head with an inch.”

“It dented the floor,” Barber chimed in to add.

“If I just even shifted my weight the tiniest bit, it would have probably broken my neck, like landed right on top of my head,” Cameron Bure continued. “The stunt guy was fired. And [the director] was like, ‘We’re not doing this stunt. Like, redo the whole set, because we’re not doing that stunt anymore.'”

Cameron Bure’s Faith-Based Mission

“Fuller House” ran for five seasons from 2016 until 2020. Since then, Cameron Bure has committed herself to making faith-based and family-friendly content.

“I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch,” Cameron Bure told Variety after she left the Hallmark Channel for Great American Family in 2022. “I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose.”

“GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family,” she added. “Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about.”

Cameron Bure Targeted By Cancel Culture

That same year, Cameron Bure was targeted by cancel culture for saying that she would be prioritizing traditional marriage over LGBTQ story lines on her new network

“I’ve taken punches before in my industry but it was at a level I hadn’t experienced yet, and it’s been very challenging,” she said at the time. “Cancel culture is very real and they were trying to cancel me.”

“So when I had a lot of these bullets kind of hit me in the last year or so, they’ve been a really big challenge to me personally, to my heart, to my character, to my relationships, to my jobs,” she added. “You have to be ready for some of those fiery darts to be thrown at you in a bigger public platform.”

As one of the only unapologetically open Christians in Hollywood these days, Cameron Bure is a true rarity in Hollywood. Thank goodness that she didn’t die on the “Fuller House” set, because her voice is needed now more than ever!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
