Taylor Swift Calls On Fans To Vote, But Doesn’t Endorse Biden

The pop star Taylor Swift, whose endorsement has been highly coveted in this year’s presidential election, called on her fans to get out and vote on Super Tuesday. Unfortunately for President Joe Biden, however, Swift stopped short of endorsing him.

Swift Calls On Fans To Vote

“Today, March 5, is the Presidential Primary in Tennessee and 16 other states and territories. I wanted to remind you guys to vote the people who most represent YOU into power,” Swift, 34, wrote on her Instagram Story. “If you haven’t already, make a plan to vote today.”

“Whether you’re in Tennessee or somewhere else in the US, check your polling places and times at vote.org,” she added.

This undoubtedly left Biden disappointed, as he was surely hoping for a ringing endorsement from the liberal Swift, who may have more power over this election than you would think. Last month, a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek found that eighteen percent of voters stated that they are “more likely” or “significantly more likely” to vote for whichever candidate that Swift is supporting.

Meanwhile, seventeen percent said that they would be less likely to vote for a candidate backed by Swift, and 55 percent said that they would not be swayed either way by the “Anti-Hero” singer. A total of 45 percent of the people that responded to the poll said that they were Swift fans, while 54 percent said that they were not.

“She’s influenced popular culture, sports, the economics of entire regions of the U.S.,” said communications consultant James Haggerty. “So why not politics and elections?”

“Swift is in the class by herself,” added media consultant Brad Adgate. “She’s so talented and so popular and so ingrained in pop culture. No one is close to her.”

Swift’s Anti-Trump History

This new poll will came as bad news for Trump, as Swift has been open about being against him politically. Back in 2020, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that spread throughout the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” she wrote on social media at the time, according to Daily Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”

In her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana,” Swift talked about how much she regrets not openly opposing Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

“I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now,” Trump said in response.

Trump Confident Swift Won’t Endorse Biden

Though Swift proudly endorsed Biden back in 2020, however, Trump does not believe that she will be able to do so this time around.

“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will,” Trump stated last month.

“There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money,” he continued. “Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can’t stand me!”

Since Swift did not endorse Biden yesterday, perhaps Trump was on to something with that!

As the year goes on, Biden will undoubtedly only become more desperate to get Swift’s official endorsement. Only time will tell if he ends up securing it, or if Swift decides to stay in the middle for this election and not risk alienating her fans on either side of the political aisle.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
