Over the past few months, calls have been growing for Whoopi Goldberg to be fired from “The View” for arguing multiple times that the Holocaust was not about race. Now, Goldberg has made a surprising career move as these calls continue to grow.

Goldberg’s New Career Move

Goldberg, 67, recently shocked everyone by revealing that she’s written a graphic novel called “The Change.”

“The story centers around Isabel Frost, a wife, mother, and grandmother who feels that life isn’t what she thought it’d be,” Screen Rant reported. “Even though she’s got an amazing support network of family and fellow gamers, things have become stagnant for Isabel.”

“But as her body adjusts to menopause, Isabel finds herself developing powerful abilities,” the description added. “With the assistance of her best friend and her comic book-loving grandson, Isabel decides to embrace the new direction of her life and become the Change.”

The Sun reported that a graphic that has been released for the novel shows a woman who strongly resembles Goldberg. The woman, who has similar facial features to Goldberg, can be seen wearing a dramatic black leather outfit and holding an orb of blue energy in her hand.

Goldberg’s Holocaust Comments

This comes at a difficult time for Goldberg, as calls for her to be fired from “The View” have been increasing as of late. Last year, she was suspended from the ABC talk show for two weeks after saying that “the Holocaust isn’t about race” on an episode of the ABC talk show. Though she issued a groveling apology after making those comments, she proceeded to double down on them in a December interview.

“My best friend said, ‘Not for nothing is there no box on the census for the Jewish race.’ So that leads me to believe that we’re probably not a race,” Goldberg told The Times of London at the end of 2022.

“It wasn’t originally” about race, she continued, according to NBC News. “Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical. They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision.”

Goldberg issued yet another apology after backlash for these comments came in.

“Recently while doing press in London, I was asked about my comments from earlier this year,” Goldberg told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “I tried to convey to the reporter what I had said and why, and attempted to recount that time.”

“It was never my intention to appear as if I was doubling down on hurtful comments, especially after talking with and hearing people like rabbis and old and new friends weighing in,” she added. “I’m still learning a lot and believe me, I heard everything everyone said to me.”

Petition To Fire Goldberg Goes Viral

Many feel that this apology was not enough, however, and a petition calling for Goldberg to be fired has been signed by over 47,000 people.

“Whoopi has made numerous remarks about race that have ruffled feathers,” the petition states. “But her most recent comment attacking victims of the holocaust and the entire Jewish community are disgusting.”

“Apologies are not enough when it comes to things like this, This can and will not be forgotten,” it added. “We as Americans demand that she be fired from the daytime tv show ‘The View’ for her repulsive verbiage and actions.”

It remains to be seen whether or not ABC executives will heed the calls to fire Goldberg, but considering how fast they are coming in, she may be wise to be moving into a new career.
