Last week, we reported that the former “Happy Days” star Scott Baio had announced that he would be leaving the liberal state of California due to the escalating homeless crisis and the rise in crime. Now, Baio is opening up about this decision and revealing that his family has moved to the conservative-run state of Florida.

Baio Moves To Florida

Baio, 62, retweeted the above photo yesterday and updated his Twitter location to Florida. He then told Fox News that over the past 45 years, he’s watched California turn into a “third-world country.”

“Between the homeless defecating on the sidewalk, doing drugs on the sidewalk in the middle of the day, illegal aliens all over the place, laws means nothing, crime is out of control, graffiti on everything and all my tax dollars I don’t know what they go for,” he lamented.

“I’ve been in California a very, very long time, and it’s so sad to me,” Baio continued. “I’ve got family, and I’ve got friends there, and I didn’t want to leave, but I’ve been pretty much forced out.”

Baio went on to tell host Jesse Watters that he believes the people of California are feeling “trapped” to “vote differently.”

“I would vote for a Democrat if they were going to fix some of this stuff,” he said. “I would. But I don’t think the other side would ever vote for a Republican to fix it. And, Jesse, I’m telling you, it’s bad.”

Baio concluded by saying that his family, which includes his wife Renee and daughter Bailey, have settled on the west coast of Florida. Check out his full interview in the video below.

Baio’s Previous Comments On California Exodus

California is currently experiencing a mass exodus, with Daily Mail reporting last month that an estimated 500,000 people left California between April 2020 and July 2022. Last September, Baio called in to the Clay & Buck show to talk about just how bad both crime and homelessness has gotten in California under the liberal policies there.

“I see people… When I drive with my kid, I gotta turn her head away. She’s 14 years old. I see people defecating on the sidewalk,” Baio lamented. “You see people in parks shooting up. There’s people passed out everywhere. I mean it. It’s not the isolated. It’s all over the place. And I’m about ready to get out of the state. So, you know, just so you guys know, that it’s no joke out here.”

“I think, probably since Governor Newsom, it’s really gotten bad, and maybe a little before that. So, maybe four or five years ago,” he continued. “It’s just… It’s out of control, guys. Listen, I’ve been here for 45, almost 50 years. I’ve seen this place go from an absolute paradise into a cesspool…”

Baio is far from the only celebrity to recently flee California, with others that have including Matthew McConaughey and Mark Wahlberg. If they the liberal leaders of California don’t change their ways soon, they can expect a whole lot more residents to do the same.
