Donny Osmond Addresses If He’d Ever Work With Marie Again – ‘It’s Done’

Donny Osmond is speaking out to reveal if he'd ever consider working with his younger sister Marie again in the future.

The sibling pair Donny and Marie Osmond rose to fame in the 1970s with their variety show “Donny & Marie,” and they last performed together in 2019, when they wrapped up an 11-year residency in Las Vegas. While reflecting on his career in a new interview, Donny addressed if he’d ever work with Marie again.

‘It’s Gone, It’s Done’

“I miss working with her because we had such a rapport onstage, but that whole era is passed,” Donny, 65, told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s gone, it’s done.”

Donny went on to acknowledge that this could always change, however.

“Revisiting the ‘Donny & Marie’ thing, it would have to be the right thing,” he continued. “Marie would have to agree with it obviously.”

“I have been in this business for a long time. I learned to never say never, but there’s nothing in the back of my mind and I don’t think there is in the back of Marie’s mind of reuniting,” Osmond explained. “Maybe a one-off, but to do a Las Vegas performance like we did for 11 years, with the ‘Donny & Marie’ talk show for several years, there’s nothing that has really sparked both of our minds yet.”

Donny’s Own Residency

These days, Donny is focusing on his upcoming Donny tour and returning to Las Vegas for his own residency, which is set to run through November.

“The thing I love about my residency here in Las Vegas, mostly is the fact that I put six decades of show business into a 90-minute show, which sounds like that’s impossible,” Donny said. “But we did it and do a rap in the show. I put all 65 albums that I’ve done in the show. And people say, ‘How do you do 65 albums in one show?'”

“You have to see it to understand how I do it,” he added. “The dancers that I selected for the show, the band, the crew, the sound, the visuals. We put a lot of effort into this; I put so much effort into this. In fact, somebody said, ‘Donny, how long did it take for you to put this show together?’ And I said, ’60 years.’ Because you see my whole life, just like that, in one show.”

Marie Recalls Being Body-Shamed On ‘Donny & Marie’

Earlier this year, Marie recalled being body-shamed on “Donny & Marie,” which ran from 1976 until 1979.

“It was on that lot that I was taken out to the back by some head of the studio — and I’m like 5′ 5″ and about 103 pounds — and he basically said, ‘You’re an embarrassment to your family. You’re fat,'” Marie, 63, told Page Six.

Marie went on to claim that she was told that “250 people were going to lose their jobs because you can’t keep food out of your fat face.”

This led to Marie embarking on an extreme diet regime that “became a real deal” to her, and she ultimately “got down to like 92 pounds.”

Thankfully, she was eventually able to snap out of this after seeing the affects of extreme dieting on someone else.

“I was in the dressing room, bending over putting on my pantyhose, and there was a girl in there changing who was just an emaciated skeleton with skin on her,” Marie recalled. “And I just thought, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so sick,’ and I stood up and realized that girl was me. And it was just one of those big ‘AHA’ (moments), that ‘Oh, body dysmorphia is a real thing.’”

Donny and Marie are two of the greatest talents out there, so it would be fun to see them reunite. We can only hope that this happens in the future!
