Whoopi Goldberg Loses It On ‘The View’ Audience – ‘Okay, Ya’ll’
Whoopi Goldberg lost her temper on the audience of "The View" today when they refused to quiet down as she tried to conduct an interview.
Things got awkward on the ABC talk show “The View” once again on Tuesday morning when the audience became so loud and rowdy that moderator Whoopi Goldberg was given no choice but to shut them down.

Goldberg Loses It On Audience
Entertainment Weekly reported that Goldberg, 67, was trying to interview the “American Idol” judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie when the audience became too loud for her to continue. The crowd went wild as soon as the three famous singers took the stage.
“It’s really wonderful to have you all here at the table with us. You’re back with the 21st season — only six for y’all — of American Idol,” Goldberg said as she tried to start the interview.
“Now, when you see all the things that… okay, ya’ll, you have to let us ask the questions,” she continued, turning to address the crowd directly. “We’ll get back to you, but you’ve got to let us get through it, because you know we take forever to ask these questions.”
Richie even admitted that he was having trouble hearing because of the audience, but they soon calmed down and the interview continued normally. Check out a portion of the interview in the video below.

Goldberg’s Racial Slur Scandal
This comes after a difficult few months for Goldberg, as calls have been growing for her to be fired from “The View” for making various racially insensitive comments. Earlier this month, she was forced to apologize after using the word “gy**ed” on air. This word has been deemed a racial slur that is offensive to the Romani people.
“You know, when you’re a certain age, you use words that you know from when you’re a kid or you remember saying, and that’s what I did today, and I shouldn’t have,” Goldberg said in her apology.
“I should have thought about it a little longer before I said it, but I didn’t, and I should have said ‘cheated,’ and I used another word, and I’m really, really sorry,” she continued.

Last year, Goldberg was suspended from “The View” for two weeks after saying that “the Holocaust isn’t about race” on an episode of the ABC talk show. Though she issued a groveling apology after making those comments, she proceeded to double down on them in a December interview.
“My best friend said, ‘Not for nothing is there no box on the census for the Jewish race.’ So that leads me to believe that we’re probably not a race,” Goldberg told The Times of London at the end of 2022.
“It wasn’t originally” about race, she continued, according to NBC News. “Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical. They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision.”

Goldberg issued yet another apology after backlash for these comments came in.
“Recently while doing press in London, I was asked about my comments from earlier this year,” Goldberg told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “I tried to convey to the reporter what I had said and why, and attempted to recount that time.”
“It was never my intention to appear as if I was doubling down on hurtful comments, especially after talking with and hearing people like rabbis and old and new friends weighing in,” she added. “I’m still learning a lot and believe me, I heard everything everyone said to me.”
Many feel that this apology is not enough, however, and calls for her to be fired have continued to come in.

“The View” has been a mess for a long time now, and it’s astounding that the show is still on the air. Only time will tell how much longer Goldberg will be able to keep her spot as moderator as her various controversies continue to mount.
