PFL Bringing On Dan Hardy Another Major Win For Promotion

The PFL continues to hit it out of the park with signings – and not just for the fighter roster.

By bringing on Dan Hardy to serve in an executive role for PFL Europe, the promotion has once again shown they are working for the greater good of mixed martial arts.

Hardy is as synonymous with MMA in Europe as anybody. He worked his way up to challenge Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight in 2010 in London. That came on the heels of seven consecutive wins, including four inside the Octagon.

From there, Hardy continued to test his skills against the best of the best including Carlos Condit, Anthony Johnson – yes, that same “Rumble” who would fight at light heavyweight – and others.

His last MMA fight came in 2012, but “The Outlaw” has continued to help the sport in other ways since. He served as an analyst with the UFC for a number of years.

Hardy was forced to retire due to a condition, but that has not stopped him from remaining active. As PFL CEO Peter Murray recently said, “we’re bringing together the greatest athletes and minds in MMA.”

PFL Europe will feature 32 fighters from 14 countries across four different weight classes. The first event is set for this weekend from Newcastle.

Hardy’s role will be of Head of Fighter Operations for the league. He will play a key role in the well-beinging and development of fighters, as well as looking for the next big thing.

“I’m excited to be taking on the role as Head of Fighter Operations for PFL Europe,” Hardy said. “This will allow me to bring together the best MMA prospects from around the region, and give each of them an opportunity to establish themselves as world class talent.

“PFL Europe will bring stability to the opportunities available to European MMA athletes, and I’m honored to be able to play a role in that process.”

The world of MMA is one of the few sports that brings together people from all walks of life. I try my best to tell those stories and also present breaking news to the masses.
