Megyn Kelly spoke out to mock Savannah Guthrie after she left “Today” mid-show on Tuesday due to her testing positive for COVID-19.

Kelly Mocks Guthrie

Kelly could not help but laugh at the fact that the “Today” show is even still testing for COVID-19, pointing out that it shows that the virus still has a firm grip on the “left.”

“All of it is such a perfect indication of how the left, and especially the left in New York, continues to live,” Kelly said on her SiriusXM podcast, according to Daily Mail. “I mean, at this point, seriously? Is anyone still even testing for COVID?”

Kelly proceeded to call out NBC, a network that she previously worked for.

“There’s zero chance NBC is not requiring all booster,” she continued. “This is reportedly Savannah’s third bout of COVID, and I guarantee you she’s had all the vaccines and the boosters because you won’t be able to go into 30 Rock without them.”

“I don’t test for COVID anymore. Who’s testing for COVID still?” she added. “It’s amazing to me. These guys are leftists and it’s amazing to me to see how the leftists still live under the grip of COVID.”

As she recounted Guthrie’s sudden mid-show exit, Kelly said that weatherman Al Roker began to slowly walk off-camera in a clear attempt to social distance.

“I got dollars to donuts that [Al] Roker’s there with an N95 tomorrow all day on set,” she said.

Guthrie Leaves ‘Today’ Mid-Show

Viewers of “Today” on Tuesday morning were shocked when Guthrie suddenly disappeared from the show.

“It has been an interesting morning for us. As we said, Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling great, so she took a COVID test. It came back positive,” said co-host Sheinelle Jones, who had been sitting close to Guthrie during her time on the show that morning.

“As soon as we found out, she rushed home to rest up. So Savannah, we love you, wishing you a speedy recovery,” she added.

Co-host Willie Geist, who had COVID twice last year, filled in for Guthrie after she left.

Newsweek reported that Kelly said that despite the fact that Jones was sitting right next to Guthrie, she’s “pretty sure” she’d be at low risk to contract the virus because “you’re not then able to transmit the COVID within two seconds of inhaling it from the first person,” adding that “someone’s going to have to fact check me on that one.”

Guthrie’s last battle with COVID came in May of 2022, when she took to Instagram to post a photo of her positive test alongside the caption, “So this happened—again! Covid +, air filter on ‘turbo’ and it will be an isolating Mother’s Day for this mama!!! I feel fine, just slight cold so far. Thankful to be vaccinated!”

Kelly’s History With NBC

Forbes reported that Kelly left Fox for NBC in January of 2017 after signing a $17 million a year deal with the network. She found herself in hot water the next year after questioning why wearing blackface for Halloween is racist, and she ultimately left NBC in January of 2019, walking away with a $69 million payout, according to CNN

Kelly’s latest comments show that there is no love lost between her and those at her former network. In the end, she’s probably better off having nothing to do with a woke liberal network like NBC!
