The professional golfer Paige Spiranac is firing back at what she describes as “disgusting sexual” rumors that she’s been hit with.

Spiranac Sounds Off

Spiranac has millions of followers on social media and is arguably the most famous female golfer in the world, but this has come at a cost for the 30 year-old athlete, as she’s constantly hit with explicit rumors whenever she’s at an event with male athletes or celebrities.

“One thing people don’t talk about with being a woman in a male-dominated industry, whether it’s golf or the sports industry, is that any time I do content with another man there are rumors and comments, and it’s all disgusting sexual stuff,” Spiranac said earlier this week, according to The New York Post.

“And so I feel like it prohibits me from participating or being invited to certain events when there are male athletes and male celebrities because of the rumor mill and all of this stuff,” she added.

Not stopping there, Spiranac went on to talk about how “unfair” these rumors are.

“It’s just so unfair, and any time I’m pictured with another man … the comments are just gross,” she continued. “It’s really frustrating because I don’t feel like I get to interact with people normally. … I don’t want to start any of those rumors for myself or for them. I just wish people could be normal and realize that here could just be a male-female working relationship with nothing else going on.”

Spiranac Blocks Out Her Haters

Spiranac then said that “no matter what I do, people are going to criticize it,” which is why she tries to mentally block out her haters whenever she can.

“I don’t care what people think about me anymore,” she explained. “‘Are they going to take me seriously?’ No. They never did, and who cares if they do now.”

Unlike many other celebrities, Spiranac runs her own social media, even editing her own reels and videos.

“I think you’d be surprised with how many influencers have ghost tweeters, who write their tweets for them and aren’t involved and aren’t posting and aren’t doing the day-in and day-out of commenting back — none of it,” she said.

Spiranac previously opened up about how much she loves creating digital content online.

“I think my heart lies with digital content and that’s what I think I do best and what I enjoy most,” she said in a separate interview. “Something I’ve wanted to do for a really long time is offer different types of content, higher-quality content, definitely golf instruction, and also just having a place where I can just post kind of whatever I want when I want, and just have it be a little bit different than my social media.”

Spiranac’s ‘Traumatic’ Divorce

Spiranac was married to the athletic trainer Steven Tinoco from 2018 until they divorced last year.

“As you guys know, I am divorced,” Spiranac said last year, according to The Post. “I wasn’t married for very long and I think that when I initially got divorced, I said I will never get married ever again.”

Spiranac then said that her divorce was so “traumatic” that she initially didn’t want to marry ever again, but she has since changed her mind (thankfully!).

“Now, when I think about it, yes I definitely think I do want to remarry and I’ve learned so many things,” she admitted. “I believe in love and I don’t want to have one not great experience ruin a great experience moving forward.”

“So I’d be much smarter about it this time and not rush the process but really enjoy everything there is to like planning the wedding,” Spiranac added. “Gosh, I love the cake-testing, that was really fun, finding a dress and being able to share it.”

Spiranac is clearly a young woman who has beauty, brains, and strong athletic ability. This all makes her the total package, so we doubt that she’ll be single for very long, even with the offensive rumors she constantly has to contend with!
